Iran revises new regulations on cryptocurrency mining

2022/11/17 09:55

According to Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iran’s First Vice President Mokhber recently announced that the cryptocurrency mining regulations approved in 2019 have been revised. The newly revised regulations stipulate that cryptocurrency miners should obtain a special license from the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade, as well as a license from the Ministry to import equipment. The equipment needs to be approved by the Iranian Standards Organization before it can be used. Miners have to halve their operations over the summer. Mining cryptocurrencies using subscribed energy (electricity or gas) for any other purpose is illegal and violators will be penalized.
