The combined CME open interest for bitcoin and ether reached approximately $1.5 billion

According to Forbes, as lesser investors flee the FTX-ravaged cryptocurrency sector, institutions are ratcheting up their long positions in the futures markets for the two leading tokens. CME Group reported a 42% increase in open interest contracts for bitcoin futures this month to 18,713 as of Nov.11. Each contract is equivalent to 5 bitcoins, or $81,780 at today’s price. Ether saw an even-steeper 62% jump in futures open interest relative to the end of October. The combined CME Group open interest for bitcoin and ether reached approximately $1.5 billion on Friday.
