OpenSea announced that it has launched a tool for on-chain enforcement of creator fees for new collections. Starting 12pm ET on Tuesday Nov 8 OpenSea will enforce creator fees only for new collections that use an on-chain enforcement tool such as this one. OpenSea won’t make any changes for existing collections until at least Dec 8, 2022. In the meantime, OpenSea will hold conversations communities to get their POV on a more optimal outcome. This tool is OpenSea’s first version of on-chain enforcement, and in the coming months OpenSea will launch additional tools and improvements for on-chain enforcement of new collections. OpenSea said that it recognizes not all creators, collections, and communities are the same and they are looking to create a long-term policy that reflects that.
