Russia seeks to establish cross-border clearing platform for stable currency with friendly countries

Russia is working with several friendly countries to create clearing platforms for cross-border settlement of the stable currency, Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Moiseyev said on Tuesday, according to a TASS report. "We are currently working with a number of countries to create bilateral platforms so that the US dollar and euro are not used. We provide tokenisation instruments that will be used on these platforms, that are mutually acceptable, and these are essentially clearing platforms that we are currently developing with these countries. Stable currencies can be pegged to a number of recognised instruments, such as gold, whose value is clearly visible to all participants." As previously reported, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseyev said in an interview with the Russia 24 television channel that the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Russia have reconsidered their approach to cryptocurrencies and see the need to legalise cross-border settlement of these currencies in the near future.
