Multiple U.S. State Attorneys General Launch Investigation into OpenAI

On June 13, sources revealed that attorneys general from several U.S. states have jointly initiated an investigation into OpenAI. Multiple insiders stated that the artificial intelligence company received a broad subpoena on Friday, requiring the submission of various documents related to its operations and user impact. This includes information on advertising practices, user engagement and retention, consumer and health data management, services targeting minors and the elderly, deep learning models, issues related to model bias, and internal company regulations. An OpenAI spokesperson stated, "Artificial intelligence is an emerging and powerful technology, and we are committed to ensuring that the public can safely enjoy its benefits in a compliant and prudent manner. We take the concerns raised by the state attorneys general seriously and will actively cooperate with the relevant authorities."
