The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is holding a closed-door meeting today, January 30, 2025, which caused speculation that Ripple’s ongoing lawsuit could be a key topic of discussion.
The meeting, scheduled for 2 PM ET, will cover litigation claims, settlements, enforcement actions, and administrative proceedings.
The timing of the meeting is particularly interesting. It comes just weeks after SEC Chair Gary Gensler’s departure, following the agency’s filing of an appeal-related brief in the Ripple case on January 15. With Trump nominating Paul Atkins as the new SEC Chair, many expect a more market-friendly approach to crypto regulation.
Crypto analyst DC believes XRP could climb to $10, with the potential to reach $15–$20 before the current bull run ends.
