Per a recent Arkham report, Vitalik Buterin’s net worth is estimated to be around $467M as of December 2025. The report explains how most of Buterin’s net worth is highly dependent on the price of Ethereum. In addition to this, most of Buterin’s crypto investments include a stake in a company called Starknet as well as capital explorations in tokens like AAVE V3, WETH, and MOODENG.

Per the report, Buterin holds nearly 224K ETH tokens, with hints of some unknown crypto investments, which could shift his current net worth to an even higher range.

“At present, Vitalik Buterin’s known crypto holdings amount to $467 million. Most of this comes from his ETH holdings, which amount to approximately 224k tokens. Buterin’s crypto holdings can be estimated by looking at his known Ethereum wallet addresses. While this doesn’t rule out the existence of any undisclosed wallets. Given the size of Buterin’s holdings in his known wallets, it likely comprises most of his net worth. “

Crypto Fear Index Hits 11: What Happens If Bitcoin Loses $66K?
The crypto market declined 1.1% over the past 24 hours, bringing total market capitalization down to $2.3 trillion. Bitcoin led the pullback, and with BTC dominance at 58.1%, the broader market followed.
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index has dropped to 11 — its lowest reading since February 6 — signaling extreme fear. Blockchain advisor and investor Anddy Lian says the $66,000 level is where the market’s next major move will likely be decided.
Bitcoin Falls While Stocks Rally
What makes this decline unusual is the broader market context.
The Nasdaq Composite gained 0.78%
NVIDIA rose 1.6% after Meta Platforms announced a long-term AI data center partnership
Japan’s Nikkei 225 advanced 0.8%
South Korea’s Kospi surged 3% to a record high
Crypto, however, moved in the opposite direction.
Lian pointed to a -66% correlation between Bitcoin and gold, suggesting capital isn’t rotating between the two. Instead, money appears to be exiting risk assets altogether.
Fed Minutes Add Pressure
Minutes from the latest Federal Reserve meeting showed policymakers are in no rush to cut interest rates. Some officials even indicated rate hikes remain possible if inflation stays above target.
Markets are currently pricing in roughly a 50% probability of a rate cut by June.
According to Lian, a “higher-for-longer” rate environment increases the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets like Bitcoin and reduces speculative capital flows into crypto markets.
