As H2 unfolds, liquidity is emerging as the market’s defining variable.

From a technical standpoint, the TOTAL crypto market cap has fallen more than 25% from its $3.3 trillion peak. That coincided with Bitcoin’s [$BTC] nearly 35% decline from its $97k high in H1, marking its worst first-half performance since the 2022 bear market, when $BTC ended the year down 65%. So, if the market sees another H1-style sell-off in H2, it could match or even exceed the losses from the 2022 bear cycle.

The key question is: What are the odds? Notably, liquidity is where the picture begins to change. The stablecoin market has contracted by nearly $15 billion so far in 2026, pulling the total stablecoin market cap below $310 billion. In essence, stablecoin outflows suggest capital is leaving the crypto ecosystem, reducing the liquidity available to support a sustained market recovery.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) Loses 65% of Daily Exchange Outflows

Shiba Inu exchange outflows fell by 65% in a single day, a sharp one-session drop in the amount of SHIB being withdrawn from trading venues that has drawn attention from on-chain watchers tracking holder behavior.

The decline was reported in a market update on Shiba Inu daily exchange outflows, which centered on the single metric rather than a broader trend. Exchange outflows measure the volume of a token leaving centralized exchanges, typically toward private wallets, and are commonly read as a proxy for accumulation or reduced near-term selling pressure. Bitcoin continued trading sideways between $63,000 and $64,000. At press time, BTC traded around $63,923 after gaining 1.82% over 24 hours.

However, Trading Volume fell 46%, reflecting weaker market participation.

Why did this Bitcoin whale return?
As Bitcoin [BTC] traded sideways, one long-term holder returned to the market after a year of inactivity.

According to Onchain Lens, the whale wallet received another 1,001 BTC worth approximately $64 million. A year earlier, the whale acquired $290 million worth of Bitcoin through Galaxy Digital.

Its return during weaker market conditions suggested renewed confidence, although the transfer alone did not confirm broader whale demand.

Are other whales buying BTC?
Interestingly, even though this whale returned, other whales have scaled back significantly and are now sitting on the sidelines.

Looking at the Exchange Whale Ratio, this metric has continued to move sideways, holding around 0.3 over the past three days. In the short term, this metric indicates that whales have reduced buying and selling.

The ratio slipped from 0.33 to 0.31. This meant the largest inflows accounted for a slightly smaller share of total deposits.

By contrast, Spot Netflow remained negative for four consecutive days, showing that overall exchange outflows exceeded inflows.

Spot Netflow stood near -$10.86 million at press time. Continued outflows could reduce immediate selling pressure, but they did not confirm whale accumulation.

What’s next for BTC?
Although some whales still remain active in the market, demand remains weak. The group’s buying activity currently remains below par.

As a result, the downside risk remains elevated. A look at the ADX with the SMA indicator shows the positive index has continued to drop. The +DI fell to 14, while the negative index rose to 26 and the ADX rose to 17.

The weekly bullish RSI divergence has emerged during $BTC’s consolidation following its correction from 2025 highs above $120,000, signaling that selling pressure may be easing and echoing conditions seen near the 2022 bear-market bottom.

The weekly chart shared by analyst Ali Martinez in an X post on July 18 shows Bitcoin printing a lower low in price while the RSI forms a higher low.

The analysis highlighted a striking resemblance to Bitcoin’s 2022 bottom. During that period, $BTC established a major low near $16,000 before launching a rally that eventually exceeded 700%.

The current structure shows a similar divergence developing near the $58,000 to $60,000 region, while RSI has started trending upward from oversold territory.

In addition, the indicator has rebounded from levels near 30, suggesting momentum is improving even though price action remains relatively subdued. According to analysis, this is only the second time such a divergence has appeared on Bitcoin’s weekly chart since the 2022 cycle low.However, technical analysts caution that the divergence alone does not guarantee a breakout. Bitcoin still needs to reclaim key resistance levels before a larger bullish trend can be confirmed.
