Data from the options market, as reported in the original CoinDesk report, shows large traders paying a premium for a structure that profits if $BTC rallies toward $72,000 but caps gains above that level. The timing is not accidental.

CoinGecko outlined that the cryptocurrency market has changed almost beyond recognition since 2014. Hundreds of projects entered and fell out of the spotlight, as former industry heavyweights, such as Peercoin, Namecoin, NXT, Dash, EOS, and Litecoin, all spent years among the top 10 elite before eventually falling out.

This is not the case with Ripple’s $XRP, though. The report analyzed annual market-cap snapshots between 2014 and 2026 and found that $XRP is the only cryptocurrency (besides Bitcoin) to remain inside the industry’s top 10 every single year. This streak spans 13 consecutive years and, unless there’s a major collapse in 2026, is likely to close its 14th year soon.The asset managed to remain in the top through the painful 2018 bear market, the COVID-19 crash, the Terra collapse, the FTX bankruptcy, and perhaps most impressively, Ripple’s years-long battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. This was particularly threatening as $XRP was delisted from countless exchanges after the SEC’s offensive began, and it tumbled hard immediately.

Meanwhile, Ripple’s token recently celebrated a one-year anniversary since its all-time high of $3.65 was marked last July. However, it has dumped by 70% since then.

The CLARITY Act sits at the center of Congress’ efforts to establish a durable U.S. digital asset framework after years of disputes over regulatory jurisdiction, consumer protections, and market oversight. Its supporters argue that legislation is needed to create clearer operating rules and keep digital asset activity within the United States.

U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) wrote on X on July 17 that the CLARITY Act would deliver three outcomes: “certainty for developers,” “protection for investors” and “integrity for markets.” The lawmaker added: “Digital asset legislation should deliver all three, and the Clarity Act does.”


Lummis also renewed her call for Congress to advance the legislation, writing in another X post: “One year ago, the $GENIUS Act became law. The $GENIUS Act was an important first step in securing the dollar’s dominance, but we must capitalize on that momentum if we are going to cement America’s legacy as the crypto capital of the world. Let’s get the Clarity Act done!”

The $GENIUS Act, formally known as the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act, created a federal regulatory framework for payment stablecoins. President Donald Trump signed it into law on July 18, 2025, after it passed both chambers of Congress.

Bitcoin’s institutional demand will come back stronger, according to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas. The analyst noted that U.S. spot $BTC ETFs could follow gold ETFs’ ‘triumph and pain’ pattern and would eventually surge to a new record high.

Gold ETFs were briefly the world’s largest ETF in 2011 but spent another eight years in a downtrend trying to reclaim the spot, added Balchunas.

It briefly reclaimed it again in 2024, and a similar ‘two steps forward, one step back’ could happen for $BTC.

The wallet still holds 2.4 trillion BONK worth about $6.94 million, keeping attention on future token movements.

The trader who legally withdrew 4.426 trillion $BONK tokens from the $BONK treasury through the governance process is reportedly continuing to sell.

According to on-chain data shared via X, the trader in question sold another 800 billion $BONK tokens today. The sale is said to be worth approximately $2.48 million.

In the incident on July 6th, the trader gained control of a total of 4.426 trillion $BONK tokens from the $BONK treasury, worth approximately $21.2 million. Since then, the price of $BONK has fallen by about 40%.

According to the shared data, the trader still holds 2.4 trillion $BONK tokens in their wallet. This amount is said to be worth approximately $6.94 million at current prices.

$BONK, once one of the largest memecoins in the Solana ecosystem, is experiencing difficult times due to the decline in the memecoin movement and the recent cyberattack. The token continued its losses today, experiencing a 14% drop. Having reached a peak market capitalization exceeding $4 billion, the token currently holds a market capitalization of $243 million at the time of writing.
