Perhaps factoring in the substantial escalation in the Middle East, bitcoin’s price tumbled on Monday from over $64,400 to a multi-day low of $61,800, where it finally found some support.

Most larger-cap alts are in the red once again today, with HYPE, ZEC, and XLM dropping by around 3%.

Strategy’s major bitcoin sale announced last Monday brought intense volatility to the market. At first, BTC reacted with a painful decline from $64,000 to $61,200, which was rather expected given the significance of such a move. What was more surprising was the subsequent reaction that saw bitcoin jump to $64,600 within hours.

Nevertheless, that was short-lived as the renewed attacks between the US and Iran increased the selling pressure once again. This time, BTC dipped to just $61,600 before it began its recovery. The culmination came during the weekend when the cryptocurrency spiked to $64,600 again. Although it was stopped there, it spent most of the weekend at around $64,000.

Strategy didn’t buy or sell BTC in the past week, which was a relief. However, Trump reinstated the US Navy blockade at the Strait of Hormuz, which led to another leg down to $61,800. Bitcoin has rebounded since then and now sits almost a grand higher, but it’s still 3% down monthly.

Its market cap remains under $1.260 trillion, while its dominance over the alts has stalled at 56.7% on CG.

Cap Cuts Its 'Stabledrop' Airdrop to $4.2M from $12M as Backlash Mounts.The founder of Cap, a Franklin Templeton-backed stablecoin protocol, apologized for cutting a promised user reward to $4.2 million from the roughly $12 million the project had committed to in February, and denied accusations that he directed funds to a wallet linked to his former employer.

Cap said in a post on X on Friday that its "Stabledrop," a reward paid in the project's dollar-pegged cUSD rather than in its CAP governance token, would total $4.2 million. The company had planned to fund the reward through a token sale targeting a $250 million valuation and an offering of 10% of CAP's supply. When it ran the sale in June, it instead offered 5% of supply at a floor of $75 million and raised $4.2 million, with bids clearing at valuations of up to $106 million. Cap said 100% of the sale proceeds would go to the Stabledrop.

The reversal is the latest flashpoint over the "points" and airdrop programs that crypto projects use to attract early users, rewarding them with the promise of future tokens or cash while leaving the final payout to the team's discretion

Trump Torches Iran Ceasefire as Brent Crude Tops $83 and Bitcoin Sinks Below $62K

The renewed fighting traces back to attacks on commercial vessels near the Strait of Hormuz around July 7 and 8. Iran struck tankers, including a Saudi oil vessel and a Qatari LNG carrier, in what Tehran described as a response to non-compliance with its shipping corridors. The U.S. viewed the attacks as unjustified aggression against freedom of navigation.

CENTCOM answered with waves of precision strikes. One round alone was said to have hit roughly 90 targets. Officials say the cumulative total across recent days has topped 170, striking Iranian air defenses, missile and drone storage sites, coastal radar, and small naval boats tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Iran retaliated against U.S.-linked positions in Bahrain and Kuwait. Iranian sources reported casualties and damage in coastal cities, including Bandar Abbas and Bushehr. The U.S. has moved more than 20 warships into the region as both sides weigh their next steps.

Speaking from a NATO summit in Ankara, Trump called the ceasefire finished and said Iran would face a “20 to 1” response if shipping attacks continue. He left room for talks but signaled little patience for further delay.

New Hampshire Follows Bitcoin Reserve With 'Blockchain Basic Laws' Signing.New Hampshire's governor signed the Blockchain Basics Law, introducing new protections for blockchain innovation and crypto users in the state.

Last year, the state became the first in the nation to introduce a strategic Bitcoin reserve, allowing for up to 5% of public funds to be invested in the leading crypto asset.

However, its executive council recently rejected the allowance of the first Bitcoin-backed municipal bond.

New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte helped make the state into one of the crypto-friendliest in the nation when she signed HB 639 into law last week.

Known as the The Blockchain Basic Laws act, the bill provides protections for cryptocurrency innovation and use in the state while also allowing for the creation of a special blockchain dispute docket in the superior court.

"With Governor Ayotte's signature on HB 639, New Hampshire has once again demonstrated that it intends to lead the nation in blockchain innovation," said New Hampshire Representative Keith Ammon, the bill’s primary sponsor, in a statement.
