Crypto News Today (July 10): BTC Surging Toward $65K, Polymarket Eyeing Margin Trading, and Interpol Busts $122M Crypto Scheme

In crypto news today (July 10), Bitcoin has continued its rally from yesterday, holding above $63,000 and up 0.8% over the past 24 hours, trading at $63,800. Liquidations continue to drop, sitting at $191M today, down from $282M yesterday, with over $137M of that figure coming from short positions, a flip from yesterday and a signal that bears were punished as Bitcoin grinds toward $65,000.

Yesterday marked a second consecutive day of negative ETF flows for Bitcoin, following a three-day stretch that saw more than $500M in inflows. July 9 saw $95M in Bitcoin sold across various funds, with $63M of that from Fidelity’s FBTC ETF.

While the majority of tokens are up today and the total crypto market cap has surged by +1.5%, Ethereum (ETH) and Hyperliquid (HYPE) are two notable projects in the red, down -0.4% and -1.8%, respectively.

The Fear & Greed Index is still firmly in ‘Extreme Fear’, up 1 point from 22/100 to 23/100 today. Until Bitcoin breaks cleanly above $65,000, the index is likely to remain within the 15-25 range.

Eric Trump’s stake in Bitcoin mining and treasury firm American Bitcoin Corp. has been devalued by about $600 million, according to a Bloomberg report.

He owns about 6% of the firm and doubles as American Bitcoin’s Chief Strategy Officer. His brother, Donald Trump Jr., also owns an undisclosed stake in the firm.

Amid the broader crypto downturn, the firm’s stock, ABTC, has plunged by 97%, crashing from September 2025’s peak of $217 to a record low of $5.98. This week alone, it dumped by over 29%.

After a prolonged pullback from the 2026 peaks, when $XRP traded above $3, the token appears to have once again caught the attention of major capital. Amid a local market decline, the Bollinger Bands technical indicator by TradingView has produced a setup suggesting that the ambitious target of $2 per coin remains in play.

Right now, however, $XRP is going through a harsh stress test that will determine its trajectory for the second half of the year.

Point of maximum pain
The current week has been tense for $XRP holders. On the weekly chart, the price fell to $1.1018, coming close to testing the lower Bollinger Band at $1.0562.

Sellers are reaching their limit: The weekly RSI has fallen to 33.78. The market is extremely oversold, meaning bears have almost no room left to push the price lower without triggering a strong rebound.
The broader structure remains intact: On the monthly timeframe, there is no sign of panic. Buyers are confidently holding the crucial Bollinger Bands midline, the 20-period SMA, at $1.1039. As long as this monthly support remains intact, the broader bullish trend has not been broken, while the RSI near 41.87 gives the price considerable room for growth.
The technical compression on the charts has coincided with a strong news backdrop in early July, helping keep the token afloat.

First, while retail traders are locking in losses, institutional investors are doing the opposite. $XRP ETFs have recorded capital inflows for nine consecutive weeks, bringing their total assets under management to $1.49 billion.

Second, Ripple is strengthening its legal position. Receiving a full CASP license in Luxembourg under Europe's MiCA framework has already given assets such as $XRP and RLUSD regulated access to the banking sector across all 27 EU member states.
