MoonPay buys Glide to bolster crypto deposits infrastructure


MoonPay has acquired the crypto infrastructure startup Glide, integrating Glide’s deposit and routing technology, the companies said in a joint announcement shared with Cointelegraph on Thursday.

MoonPay, a financial technology platform that provides fiat-to-crypto payment services, said the deal is part of MoonPay’s broader effort to become a digital asset infrastructure provider, adding capabilities beyond its original crypto payments business.

Glide was founded in 2023 by Tushar Soni and Qinyu Tong, former members of the team behind Robinhood Wallet. The company was founded to help applications accept deposits from different tokens, wallets, exchanges and payment sources. Glide supports more than 100 tokens across 30 blockchain networks, according to the platform’s documentation.

Glide aims to remove friction from crypto deposits

Soni and Tong founded Glide to solve recurring problem they observed while working with Web3 consumer startups, where users struggled to fund their wallets, Soni told Cointelegraph.

“Funds sat on the wrong chain, in the wrong token, on an exchange, or on a card, and every deposit meant bridges, swaps, and drop-offs,” he said.

The Glide co-founders met at Robinhood, where they worked together on Robinhood Wallet. “We got into Y Combinator with a plan to build wallet infrastructure for Web3 consumer startups, but working with those startups showed us that users struggled to get money into their wallets,” Soni said.

Bitcoin Shows Signs of Healthy Accumulation Despite Correction WarningBitcoin on-chain data suggests that the market is entering a healthy accumulation phase, with investors steadily buying the asset.

However, a CryptoQuant author warns that high levels of leverage in the market could still trigger a sharp price correction.

Notably, Bitcoin is up 1.8% over the past week, trading at $64,200, though it remains 49% below its all-time high.

In a post, CryptoQuant’s TopNotchYJ said that Bitcoin’s speculative momentum from the 2025 bull market has shifted into a “structural consolidation phase”. According to him, institutional investors are gradually accumulating Bitcoin, rather than short-term traders driving price movements.

Bitcoin rose above $64,000 following weaker-than-expected US CPI and PPI data. However, further gains are limited due to simultaneous selling by both long-term and short-term investors.

While Bitcoin, Ethereum, and altcoins are also experiencing gains, noteworthy statements have come from the US banking giant Morgan Stanley.

At this point, a Morgan Stanley analyst compared Solana to Ethereum, the largest altcoin.

The edge for a staking protocol is the yield it offers, which incentivizes long-term holding.

Simply put, unlike pure speculative assets, which rely on price appreciation for returns, staking assets generate yield, providing investors with an incentive to hold through market cycles.

The question is whether this structural divergence can keep Ethereum outperforming Bitcoin after delivering nearly 2x $BTC’s ROI so far in Q3. Technically, though, Ethereum’s biggest test might just be getting started.

Can $ETH break its bearish pattern?

Since topping in August 2025, $ETH has repeatedly formed a local top within two to three days whenever the daily RSI has moved above 65. As of press time, RSI was back above that level.

If $ETH tops out once more, it would suggest the bearish structure remains intact. However, if it doesn’t and the price continues to consolidate, it would mark the first break in this pattern, potentially signaling Ethereum’s first bullish shift since April 2025

To understand whether Ethereum [$ETH] can break this trend, it’s worth looking at what sparked the rally.

So far, much of the market has pointed to the CPI report, which reignited risk appetite and fueled a sharp risk-on rally. Notably, $ETH’s on-chain metrics and technical setup have reinforced this move.

Since the CPI release, $ETH has rallied 10%+, making it the best-performing asset among the top 10 over the past week.

And it doesn’t stop here. The rally gained more momentum once key resistance gave way.

According to CryptoQuant, nearly $30 million in $ETH future positions were liquidated on Binance within a single hour as $ETH broke above $1,900. In essence, the softer CPI acted as the key catalyst that pushed Ethereum through resistance, driving a nearly 5% rally in the $ETH/$BTC pair.
