Crashing BTC Price Sparks Sale

In its latest financial report, Core Scientific hinted at a plan to sell the majority of its Bitcoin holdings, marking a shift in its long-term strategy. Most sales will take effect in Q1 2026 while keeping tabs on market trends.

The company highlighted efforts to monetize a substantial portion of its holdings, about 2,500 BTC. This follows a clear trend of miners jumping ship amid crashing crypto prices. Last year, Core Scientific and other miners halted sales and began accumulating assets following the market momentum.

🔐 Структура хранения
Обе организации выступят кастодианами цифровых активов фонда:
Coinbase Custody — хранение BTC
BNY — совместное хранение, а также администрирование
Биткоины в основном будут храниться в офлайн-хранилищах (cold storage), где приватные ключи изолированы от интернета для минимизации рисков взлома. Часть активов может временно перемещаться в торговые кошельки при создании или погашении паёв ETF.
В документе также указано, что страхование кастодиальных активов существует, однако оно распределяется между клиентами и может не покрывать все возможные убытки.

Помимо хранения криптовалюты, BNY будет выполнять несколько ключевых функций:

Трансфер-агент
Кастодиан денежных средств

Фонд будет пассивным и станет напрямую владеть Bitcoin, без использования деривативов или кредитного плеча.
Для расчёта чистой стоимости активов (NAV) будет использоваться CoinDesk Bitcoin Benchmark 4PM New York Settlement Rate — индикативная ставка, агрегирующая торговые данные с крупнейших спотовых бирж и определяющая ежедневную оценку фонда.
