It is reported that Huobi Global plans to move about 200 employees from Seychelles to the Caribbean.

The Caribbean has become a hot spot for the crypto industry, especially with the United States-based exchange moving from Hong Kong to the Bahamas in 2021.  Other companies that will register in their local jurisdictions include exchanges such as  C-Trade, and PrimeBit.  Huobi Global may also be the new name to step into the Caribbean.

Huobi Global Plans to Move to the Caribbean

Huobi has announced plans to move its headquarters to one of its jurisdictions in the Caribbean.

Huobi Global's new advisory board member, Justin Sun, said the company plans to move its headquarters to the Caribbean.  According to the Financial Times report, the company has stated its intention to "make full progress in the Caribbean".  This is due to the region's crypto-friendly stance, common law systems, and adoption of the English language.  Among Dominica, Panama and the Bahamas are the leading local countries to host Huobi.

Huobi is currently headquartered in the Seychelles islands in the Indian Ocean, and the exchange has offices in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and the United States.  According to the FT, the company plans to move from 1,600 employees to 200 employees to the new headquarters.
