Whales matter to any asset because of the capital they deploy and because they tend to hold for the longer term, unlike retail traders, who typically offload more quickly.

Over the past 24 hours, whale entries into Bitcoin drew attention once again. One whale bought 500 Bitcoin—worth roughly $32.31 million—from custodian BitGo and moved the coins to a private wallet, signalling a higher likelihood that the investor intends to hold for the long term.

The scams use polished design, urgency and irreversible crypto payments, leaving gamers without chargebacks once funds leave their wallets and no valid download afterward during the preorder hype window worldwide this week.
Fake GTA 6 early access sites are turning one of gaming’s biggest release cycles into a crypto theft funnel. Fraudulent pages claim to sell access to Grand Theft Auto VI before launch, asking victims for $250 or more in $BTC, $USDT or Ether. The sites deliver nothing after payment, leaving users with no reversible card transaction and no download. The unsettling part is that gaming hype is being converted into irreversible crypto loss, just as official preorders approach and demand peaks for players chasing access before everyone else online today.

Security researchers found the scams emerging only days before Rockstar Games’ official preorder window this week, with fake storefronts using polished graphics, Vice City-style artwork and GTA 6 branding to resemble premium game retailers. One site sold “VIP Digital Access” for $250, then instructed buyers to enter a transaction ID to unlock a nonexistent file. Rockstar has said official preorders begin June 25 through authorized digital storefronts and select retailers, while GTA 6 is scheduled for November 19, 2026. Crucially, there is no legitimate early access program, making any pre-launch download offer unauthorized.

Liquidity Outlook Darkens as Fed Hawkish Pivot Pushes Hike Odds to 77% Warsh-Led Fed Reprices Rate Expectations as Inflation Risks Move Higher Crypto markets entered a tighter liquidity environment after the Federal Reserve held rates steady while signaling a firmer stance on inflation. Wintermute, a crypto market maker and liquidity provider, said the shift created a more challenging backdrop for digital assets reliant on sustained capital inflows.

Referring to the Fed's policy shift and its implications for capital flows into digital assets, Wintermute wrote:

"For an asset class that needs liquidity arriving through ETFs, stablecoins and DATs, a Fed leaning toward tightening is the opposite of what gets those funnels flowing."

Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) channel institutional capital into crypto markets, stablecoins provide dollar-linked liquidity used for trading and settlement, and digital asset treasuries commonly refer to corporate or institutional balance sheets allocating funds to crypto. Tighter monetary policy typically raises borrowing costs and reduces risk appetite, which can slow inflows across all three channels.

Federal Reserve officials, at Kevin Warsh's first meeting as chair, removed any easing bias and shifted projections toward tighter policy. The median 2026 rate outlook rose to 3.8% from 3.4%, with nine of 18 policymakers now expecting at least one hike this year and 17 flagging upside inflation risks. Markets reacted quickly, pushing December hike odds to about 77% from roughly 24% a month earlier

According to a June 23 report from The Wall Street Journal, CBOE Global Markets is considering turning its continuous Bitcoin and Ether futures into perpetual futures following recent regulatory developments in the United States.

The report cited Rob Hocking, CBOE's global head of derivatives, who said the exchange is exploring the possibility after the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved cryptocurrency perpetual futures for prediction market operator Kalshi.

While Hocking did not provide a timeline for any changes, the comments place one of the largest U.S. exchange operators among a growing list of firms responding to fresh competition in the perpetual futures market.

CBOE introduced its continuous Bitcoin and Ether futures contracts in December, offering products with expirations extending as far as 10 years.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the exchange is now studying whether perpetual contracts could provide an alternative structure following the CFTC's decision to permit similar products on regulated U.S. venues.
