Franklin Templeton launches Franklin Crypto, acquires 250 Digital – Details
Institutional interest in digital assets continues to expand as tokenized markets attract long-term capital.Franklin Templeton has moved beyond passive exposure to digital assets and is now expanding deeper into active crypto management.

On Monday, the 22nd of June, the $1.78 trillion asset manager completed its acquisition of 250 Digital. The acquisition of the cryptocurrency management firm included the team and all its liquid cryptocurrency strategies previously run by CoinFund.

After the acquisition, Franklin Templeton officially announced that they had established a new division called Franklin Crypto. The division would be responsible for providing actively managed digital asset products to institutional investors.

Cardano Founder Reveals SpaceX Discussion Details, Shares Bullish Crypto PredictionWhile short-term market weakness continues to worry investors, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said that many traders are missing the bigger catch. Speaking in a recent podcast, Hoskinson urged the crypto community to stop focusing on daily price swings and instead pay attention to the massive long-term growth happening across the industry. Cardano, he noted, often benefits from a long-term focus over reacting to short-term market moves.

Hoskinson made it clear that short-term price drops do not change his overall outlook on crypto, especially regarding Cardano development and adoption.

"Crypto is the opt out. Crypto is the exit. Crypto is the solution," Hoskinson said.

According to him, market ups and downs are normal, but the broader trend remains firmly upward. He pointed out that the crypto industry already has around 550 million users worldwide and expects that number to grow to one billion by 2030. The crypto market fell on Tuesday, with bitcoin $BTC$62,194.91 trading at $62,300, having lost 2.5% since midnight UTC, while ether ($ETH) tumbled by more than 4% to $1,650.

The selloff follows Monday's downturn in technology stocks, with another day in the red foreshadowed by Nasdaq 100 futures, which have cratered by 2.5% since midnight.

Tech stocks are struggling due to profit-taking and the risk of higher bond yields, according to Patrick Munnelly, market strategy partner at TickMill.

Altcoins performed worse than bitcoin and ether, with tokens such as ethena (ENA) and hype (HYPE) losing 5%-6% and $717 million in liquidations across the market spurring exaggerated downswings.

The Dollar Index (DXY) rose to its highest level in more than a year, hitting 101.15, the most since May 2025.

$600 billion plunge erased nearly half of bitcoin's market cap in three days.SpaceX's stock has lost more than $600 billion in market value over three trading days, which is nearly half of bitcoin's $1.3 trillion market cap, after announcing its first bond sale.

Bitcoin fell less than 1% over the same stretch, holding near $63,600, per CoinDesk data.

The stock dropped 16% on Monday to $154.60, its lowest since its June 12 debut, taking its three-day decline to about 23%. The trigger was supposedly plan to sell at least $20 billion of bonds, the company's first time borrowing in the debt markets, to fund the artificial-intelligence buildout it took on when it bought Elon Musk's xAl in February.

SpaceX chose to borrow rather than issue new shares, which would have diluted existing holders. A week ago it, was worth nearly $2.5 trillion and had briefly passed Amazon and Microsoft but now sits just above $2 trillion.

The selling ran into Tuesday, with a perpetual futures contract that tracks SpaceX on Hyperliquid down another 15% to around $151.

Part of the move is structure. SpaceX trades on a thin float, meaning only a small share of its stock is available to trade, so each move is amplified and the 16% single-session drop on a single headline reflects that thinness.
