Seven years is an entire geological epoch in crypto, but if you're investing for the long term, it's just the first leg of the journey. Suffice it to say that leading crypto assets like Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) and XRP (XRP+3.99%) have both changed tremendously during the past few years, let alone the better part of a decade.

In the years to come, both coins have credible growth paths, but for a meaty investment of $3,000 and a plan for a seven-year hold, the most important question is about which ecosystem can absorb whatever comes next.

Where each chain is placing its bets

The latest roadmap for XRP published by its issuer Ripple calls for it to implement the ability to perform confidential transactions on its network, as well as a native lending protocol, tokenized asset trading, and identity verification. Tying together several of those features will be a network update, which provides for Confidential Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs), which will let financial institutions tokenize bonds, thereby managing them on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), while keeping ownership and transaction data private. In short, these new offerings are compelling for big financial players that won't touch a piece of new technology unless it meets the regulatory compliance standards that they're expecting.

On January 6th of this year, Polymarket officially bid farewell to its "zero-fee" model, starting a trial of transaction fees for its "15-minute cryptocurrency price fluctuation" market. The specific fee percentage will change according to the real-time market odds—the closer the odds are to 0% or 100%, the lower the fee; conversely, the closer the odds are to 50%, the higher the fee, reaching a maximum of 1.56%.

Later, on January 28th, about three weeks after the fee was implemented, we published an article titled "Data Calculations Make Polymarket's Annual Revenue Exceeding 100 Million Not Difficult, Under the Premise of...".  The article uses static estimates based on Polymarket's trading volume and activity structure at the time: In the most conservative scenario, assuming the scope of fee-charging markets remains unchanged, Polymarket is estimated to generate approximately $38 million in annual revenue; in the most aggressive scenario, if Polymarket expands its fees to all markets, it is estimated to generate $418 million in fee revenue annually.

In our previous revenue estimate for Polymarket, we struggled with the short observation period and insufficient sample size. However, nearly two months later, we have re-estimated Polymarket's revenue projections using richer data, and the results show that the so-called "conservative" estimate was indeed overly conservative, while the so-called "aggressive" estimate is not excessively exaggerated.

In the past 24 hours, $50,120 worth of short positions (7,942,947,702 $SHIB tokens) faced liquidations, as $SHIB targeted higher prices.

The short liquidations accounted for 84.7% of the total liquidated Shiba Inu positions, totaling $59,170, while longs accounted for just $9,050.

Shiba Inu has shown resilience in price over the past few days, as it is on course for its 7th daily green candle in the past 8 days.

Open Interest has also improved significantly from around $54.51 million on March 1 to $60.90 million today.

$SHIB’s spot trading volume has surged by a staggering 112% in the past 24 hours to $22.23 million, with futures trading volume also increasing 109% to $148.3 million.

Shiba Inu Bears Wrecked

Data from Coinglass shows that the recovery has dealt significant blows to bears. In the past 24 hours, $50,120 worth of short positions were liquidated, as $SHIB targeted higher prices. At the current market price, this represents a staggering 7,942,947,702 $SHIB tokens.

The short liquidations accounted for 84.7% of the total liquidated Shiba Inu positions. Data shows that the total worth of positions chalked off the market in the past day is $59,170, with longs representing just $9,050 of it.

Bitcoin In Early Stages Of Bear Market - Analyst

On October 6, 2025, Bitcoin notably recorded its present ATH of $126,100. Since then, the leading cryptocurrency has experienced multiple significant price pullbacks, forming a bear market. According to Darkfost in an X post on March 14, this corrective phase has only lasted 159 days, which may appear longer to investors, especially considering the price swings recorded in this period.

However, historical data suggests the current downturn may still be relatively early when compared to previous market cycles. Looking at the time intervals between earlier ATHs and the next cycle peaks indicates that Bitcoin typically takes several years to establish a new record high.

For instance, during the 2017 market cycle, it took 1,180 days for Bitcoin to reach a new ATH after the prior peak. In leading to the 2021 cycle all-time high, the market required 1,093 days before another record high was recorded. In comparison, the most recent cycle in 2025 saw a shorter interval of 849 days before Bitcoin climbed to its latest peak.
