Bitcoin Price Prediction: Can BTC Reclaim $85,000, or Is $78,000 Support About to Crack?

BTC is sitting in a classic compression zone, and the lack of volume is the biggest signal right now. Neither buyers nor sellers have conviction, which usually means a larger move is coming.

The key level is $78K. As long as BTC holds above it, the structure stays intact and keeps the path open toward $85K–$88K.

Above, $80K is now a contested level. It has flipped from resistance to support, but it is not fully confirmed yet, so it needs to hold on to pullbacks.

More likely short term, BTC keeps ranging between $78K and $83K while the market waits for a catalyst.

If $78K breaks on a daily close, downside opens quickly toward $74K–$75K.

So this is a low-conviction setup, not bearish enough to collapse, not bullish enough to run, just building pressure for a decisive move.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) warns that only a few companies will be granted stablecoin issuer licenses going forward.

According to the HKMA’s Chief Executive Eddie Yue, future approvals will depend on the market’s performance based on the first two approved operations.

XRP has returned above $1.40, giving bulls a reason to think that the cryptocurrency is now finding a footing after weeks of weak price action.

However, crypto analyst ChartNerd believes the current setup needs to be viewed with realistic caution. In a recent analysis and outlook he posted on X, he argued that XRP’s weekly chart is beginning to show bullish signals, but the larger timeframe has not yet confirmed that the correction is over.

XRP Weekly Chart Shows Signs Of Recovery
ChartNerd’s bullish case starts with the weekly chart, where he pointed to several technical signals that usually appear near important turning points. According to him, XRP’s weekly RSI has fallen into historical cycle-low territory, the weekly MACD has formed a bullish golden cross, and the price is still holding around the 200-week EMA. He also noted that the monthly 50 EMA is still acting as support.

These are all bullish signals that are positive on the weekly timeframe. For instance, a golden cross on the MACD usually suggests that downside momentum is weakening and that buyers are beginning to regain control.

The signals are important because the token has spent much of the past several months trying to build a base after a deep correction. The base seems to now be forming around $1.4, and this gives XRP bulls something to work with.

The Larger Timeframe Is Still Not Fully Bullish
The realistic stance for XRP is on the 3-month timeframe, which filters out short-term noise and reveals the main cycle structure.

An example is its 3-month RSI, which is currently around 54. This reading is notable because it is still above the cycle-low region around 47 seen in previous bearish structures before stronger rotations. In realistic historical terms, this means the broader reset may not yet be complete.

Bitcoin traded near $79,804 on the 15-minute $BTC chart shared by CryptoCache, after a sharp move into the $80,000 area.

The chart shows $BTC pushing quickly from the lower $78,400 range toward $80,184. The move hit a heavy whale order zone near $80,000, marked by a green circle and arrow.

CryptoCache said $35.6 million in spot limit orders was wiped out at $80,000. That means price moved into a large liquidity area and cleared resting orders around that level.

The chart also shows several large red sell zones above and near price, including notable whale order levels around $81,000, $82,000, $84,000, $85,000, $86,500, $90,000, and higher.

The analyst expects downside after the move, saying the last shorts from the past seven days were fully liquidated. In simple terms, the upside move may have cleared short-side liquidity, leaving less fuel for an immediate continuation.

If $BTC fails to hold above $80,000, price could return toward the nearby support area around $79,200 to $79,600. A deeper pullback could bring the $78,400 range back into focus.
