According to a new report from Cantor Fitzgerald, Robinhood and Coinbase could be among the biggest winners as prediction markets continue to grow rapidly.
While leading platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket remain private, publicly traded companies are already tapping into the trend by integrating event-based trading directly into their apps.
Prediction markets allow users to trade contracts tied to real-world outcomes—such as elections, economic data, or major events—with prices reflecting the crowd’s view of probability.
Cantor analyst Ramsey El-Assal described the sector as “exploding onto the scene,” with volumes expected to maintain strong momentum.
For Robinhood and Coinbase, the appeal is straightforward: they earn revenue from trading activity rather than taking the opposite side of bets. This model closely mirrors their existing businesses in equities and crypto trading.
Robinhood has already seen strong early traction. After launching its prediction markets hub following the 2024 U.S. elections, the product quickly became one of its fastest-growing revenue streams, with users trading billions of dollars in contracts across sports, politics, and macro events.
Coinbase is taking a similar approach, though still in earlier stages. Its prediction market offering—built on Kalshi’s infrastructure—is now available to all users and covers categories like crypto and economic indicators.
Overall, prediction markets are emerging as a fast-growing segment, and with their large user bases and established trading ecosystems, Robinhood and Coinbase appear well positioned to capture the upside.
