On-Chain Data Detected: Circle and Coinbase Made a Major Investment in an Altcoin
Circle and Coinbase are expanding their operations within the Hyperliquid ($HYPE) ecosystem, a decentralized derivatives exchange.
According to on-chain data, Circle began purchasing $HYPE tokens after investing approximately $5 million in $USDC. The company currently holds approximately 97,300 $HYPE tokens, all staked, with a total value estimated at around $4 million.
The development comes after Coinbase announced it would become the official “treasure broker” for $USDC on Hyperliquid. According to the announcement, Coinbase will manage $USDC reserves under Hyperliquid’s AQAv2 system and share a significant portion of the reserve yields generated from the supply on the protocol with Hyperliquid.

As part of the agreement, it was announced that Coinbase has acquired the right to purchase $USDH branded assets under a memorandum of understanding with Native Markets. In parallel, the $USDH market is planned to be phased out over time. Coinbase will continue to operate the “Compliant Quote Asset” model within the Hyperliquid ecosystem and will also continue to contribute to the Beneficial Fund.

Meanwhile, Coinbase reportedly purchased and staked approximately 500,000 $HYPE tokens last week. This purchase is said to have a market value of around $20 million. Bitcoin Risk Hinges On Two Fed Paths 

In the “realistic scenario”—described as hawkish—Edward Jones economist James McCann said, “spiking inflation will leave the Fed firmly on the sidelines for his first few meetings and potentially through the rest of 2026.” 

Under that view, if Warsh signals that 3.8% inflation is unacceptable and that the Fed will hold longer, Bitcoin could slip below $78,000, the level marked by the 200-day moving average (MA). 

In the other scenario, Daodu said a more constructive message could emerge from Warsh’s argument that artificial intelligence (AI) productivity justifies cutting rates even with a hot Consumer Price Index (CPI) reading. If that happens, the expert says Bitcoin could rebound toward the $82,000 –$85,000 zone.

What happens at the next Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting may not be the main catalyst. Daodu noted that markets have largely already priced in that the Fed will likely do nothing at the next meeting. 

CME FedWatch places the probability of a hold at the current 3.50%–3.75% rate at about 70% for June, with a 25 basis point cut priced at roughly 28%. Yet, the larger issue, according to Daodu, is whether anything Warsh says changes the expected rate path further out.

Revised Dot Plot Vs. Surprise Cut
According to Daodu, two outcomes could move BTC. One is a surprise cut scenario that is still priced at about 28% odds. If that materializes, Daodu said Bitcoin could surge toward $85,000 –$88,000, with the implication that Warsh would be cutting rates without waiting for inflation to cool. 

The second outcome involves hawkish messaging combined with a revised dot plot. Daodu said the June meeting includes an updated Summary of Economic Projections and its associated dot plot, which shows where each Fed member expects rates to land.

BlackRock just filed paperwork with the SEC for a new tokenized fund structure, using Securitize’s blockchain infrastructure to handle on-chain ownership records. The filing, submitted on May 12, represents the latest move by the $10 trillion-plus asset manager to weave blockchain rails into its traditional finance machinery.

What the filing actually does

The new fund structure relies on Securitize Transfer Agent, LLC to maintain blockchain-based ownership records. Instead of tracking who owns what through legacy systems, ownership gets recorded on-chain. The transfer agent role is critical here, because it’s the regulated entity responsible for making sure the right people own the right shares and that everyone meets investor eligibility requirements.

Securitize isn’t some random crypto startup. The two firms have a deep relationship. BlackRock led a $47 million funding round for Securitize, effectively making it the asset manager’s preferred blockchain infrastructure partner for tokenization efforts.

That relationship already produced the BUIDL fund, which launched in March 2024 and has since grown to $2.3 billion in assets under management. BUIDL, short for BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, was one of the first major tokenized money market products from a traditional finance heavyweight.

HashKey Exchange, one of Hong Kong’s largest licensed cryptocurrency exchanges, announced that it has listed Hyperliquid’s native token, $HYPE.
According to a statement by HashKey Holdings Limited, the company’s parent company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, $HYPE trading is now accessible on the platform as of today.
The exchange has also launched over-the-counter (OTC) trading services for $HYPE for professional investors. This allows investors to buy and sell the $HYPE/USD trading pair directly through the OTC market.

Nvidia Stock has reasserted its uptrend, with NVDA trading above all key moving averages and even the upper Bollinger Band. Bulls control the daily trend into next week’s earnings, yet momentum looks stretched, increasing near-term shakeout risk around key intraday pivots.

Trend alignment and momentum
On the daily chart, EMAs are firmly stacked higher, with price well above them: EMA20 206.95, EMA50 196.86, EMA200 180.49. This signals strong trend alignment and room for pullbacks without structural damage.

Daily RSI14 72.13 shows hot, overbought momentum, which elevates near-term shakeout risk even within an advance. Meanwhile, the daily MACD 7.93 sits over its signal at 6.47 with a positive histogram of 1.46, confirming upside momentum.

Volatility and pivots
Bollinger Bands center at 207.25 with an upper band at 224.49 and a lower band at 190.00. Price closed at 225.83, above the upper band. Therefore, the move looks extended and prone to mean reversion or sideways cooling.

Daily ATR14 8.11 signals elevated volatility, so ranges can widen and amplify both breakouts and reversals. Notably, daily pivots place the pivot at 225.08, R1 228.59, and S1 222.32—framing 225 as the immediate battleground.
