Ethereum focuses on security with new roadmap and leadership changes

The Ethereum Foundation has launched an ambitious security initiative aimed at strengthening blockchain infrastructure in the process of global financial integration.

The program , known as “ Trillion Dollar Security ,” is designed to identify and fix systemic vulnerabilities that could undermine Ethereum’s future.

The foundation’s first public assessment highlights six areas that require urgent attention: The security of smart contracts, user interface weaknesses, overreliance on centralized infrastructure, consensus protocol stability, incident response procedures, and system-wide monitoring.

Rather than rushing to a solution, the team first creates a roadmap. This initial report serves as a diagnostic stage. The next phase will involve prioritizing risks and partnering with community developers to address the most critical issues.

The initiative comes amid internal reforms. Ethereum’s core R&D department recently underwent personnel changes and a leadership restructuring. Aya Miyaguchi, a longtime member of the foundation, is taking on the newly created position of president, signaling the beginning of a new era in governance.

As part of this broader reorganization, the Ethereum Foundation is also updating its financial governance model to better manage resources and address criticism of slow progress. The combined measures reflect a more focused and transparent approach to scaling ETN in a secure and sustainable manner.
