Institutional adoption grows as security push follows protocol exploit.

The Solana Foundation has launched the STRIDE and SIRN security initiatives to deliver tiered risk monitoring and coordinated threat response for DeFi protocols in response to the $285 million Drift Protocol exploit on April 1, 2026. The Solana Foundation has unveiled new security initiatives billed as a "next wave" of ecosystem security. Solana is working to restore trust. This Monday, the Solana Foundation announced on its blog the launch of the STRIDE (Solana Trust, Resilience, and Infrastructure for DeFi Enterprises) program in collaboration with Asymmetric Research. STRIDE is an organized framework designed to continuously evaluate and monitor the security of projects built on the ecosystem. According to Asymmetric Research's blog, STRIDE operates as an eight-pronged security system that will conduct independent audits of ecosystem protocols to confirm their compliance. The results of these assessments will be published, providing users and investors with a clear understanding of the security of the platforms they use.  In parallel with the STRIDE project, the foundation also launched the Solana Incident Response Network (SIRN)—a member-driven coalition of companies and security researchers focused exclusively on the Solana ecosystem. According to a blog post, the network's founding members include Asymmetric Research, OtterSec, Neodyme, Squads, and ZeroShadow. SIRN is a "war room" that shares threat intelligence and coordinates rapid responses to hacker attacks across the ecosystem. These new initiatives complement existing tools such as Hypernative, Range, Riverguard, Sec3, and AuditWare, which are available to developers free of charge to improve code security from day one. This represents a fundamental shift from one-time checks to continuous monitoring funded by the foundation.

Six Swiss banks join forces to build a unified digital franc

A consortium of six major Swiss banks joined forces with Swiss Stablecoin AG to test use cases for a Swiss franc-pegged stablecoin, the country's largest bank UBS announced Wednesday.

UBS, PostFinance, Sygnum, Raiffeisen, Zürcher Kantonalbank and BCV, alongside Swiss Stablecoin AG set up a sandbox in a coordinated push to bring blockchain-based payments into Switzerland's financial system, the statement added.

The group will run the stablecoin trial period through 2026, allowing banks and other institutions to test transactions in a live but controlled setting.

The Swiss franc-pegged stablecoin project is designed to allow participants to simulate real payment flows with limits on users and transaction volumes to manage risk.

Switzerland does not yet have a regulated Swiss franc stablecoin with broad use. The banks aim to test how such a token could support payments, improve settlement speed and connect blockchain-based applications with traditional money.

The project will focus testing payment processes and exploring how programmable money could support financial services.
