Kakao Sells $670 Million Stake In Korean Crypto Exchange Operator Dunamu To Hana BankSouth Korean internet giant Kakao is partially exiting its early investment in crypto exchange operator Dunamu, selling a stake worth 1 trillion won ($670 million) to domestic commercial bank Hana Bank.
Kakao said in a stock exchange filing on Friday that its investment arm, Kakao Investment, will sell a 6.55% stake in Dunamu. Hana Bank, a subsidiary of Hana Financial Group, will buy the stake in cash, the Korean banking giant said in a separate filing. The deal is set to be completed in June.

Two major US exchange powerhouses are moving against a top decentralized trading venue. According to Bloomberg, CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which owns the New York Stock Exchange, are urging US authorities to regulate Hyperliquid amid concerns that its largely offshore, lightly regulated trading environment could be vulnerable to market manipulation and sanctions evasion.

Hyperliquid’s native HYPE token slipped approximately 6% in reaction to the development, moving from above $45 to below $43, per CoinGecko. It has a market cap of around $10.3 billion, making it the 13th-largest crypto asset globally.

The exchanges argue that Hyperliquid’s growing trading volumes in crypto and commodity-linked markets could begin to distort price discovery in critical sectors like oil, where global benchmarks are formed. They warn that anonymous trading environments may allow insiders or state-linked participants to influence prices.

The push, which includes calls for registration with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, comes as CME advances plans to expand its own 24/7 crypto trading offerings.

CME has been steadily expanding its own crypto derivatives offerings. Bitcoin Volatility Futures contracts are scheduled to begin trading June 1, and Nasdaq CME Crypto Index Futures, a multi-asset product spanning BTC, ETH, XRP, and others, launch a week later on June 8.

Both products are designed to give institutional traders regulated alternatives to the kind of leveraged trading that Hyperliquid offers with less friction and less compliance overhead.

Hoskinson Outlines Cardano Strategy Against Future Quantum Computing Threats 
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently revealed how the project plans to address the long-term risks posed by quantum computing.


Speaking in an interview on Gokhshtein News Network, Hoskinson indicated that Cardano is proactively addressing concerns surrounding quantum computing before they become an immediate threat.

Although experts believe practical quantum threats remain years away, several blockchain projects, including Cardano, have already started researching quantum-resistant alternatives.

Charles Hoskinson revealed that Cardano is proactively preparing for the potential long-term risks posed by quantum computing.

Hoskinson said the network is currently voting on a dedicated quantum strategy, with a research proposal centered on quantum resistance expected next week.

He noted that the initiative involves several partners alongside multiple advanced technical components designed to strengthen Cardano’s future security.

Hoskinson also sought to ease concerns about implementing quantum-related upgrades, noting that Cardano already conducts regular hard forks each year.

Monai revolutionized this by connecting all banks and major billing institutions in the oil-rich nation through a single digital pipeline.

Monai is hailed as the "architect" of Saudi Arabia's financial system in the Gulf region. The system he created is projected to process over 14.5 billion transactions, totaling approximately $250 billion, by 2025.

In an in-depth interview with CoinDesk, Monai shared a bold prediction.  He has already secured $12.5 billion in licenses to bring Real-World Assets (RWAs) to the blockchain via droppRWA.

The increase far exceeded market expectations of a 3.0% rise and accelerated sharply from March's 2.9% gain. It marked the fastest pace of wholesale inflation since May 2023. The sharp rise in producer prices comes as escalating conflict involving Iran and the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz continue to disrupt global oil supplies. Japan, which relies heavily on imported energy from the Middle East, has been particularly vulnerable to the surge in crude oil and fuel costs.Import prices measured in yen jumped 17.5% in April from a year earlier, the biggest increase since December 2022. The weaker Japanese yen has amplified the impact of higher energy costs, putting additional pressure on corporate profits and production
expenses. Petroleum and coal product prices rose 5.3% in April due to higher crude oil and jet fuel costs. Meanwhile, chemical goods prices surged 9.2%, the fastest increase since September 2022, as naphtha prices skyrocketed 79.4%.Economists say the broader spread of inflation across industries could push the BOJ toward tightening monetary policy sooner than expected.
