BNY is launching institutional Bitcoin and Ether custody from Abu Dhabi’s ADGM with Finstreet and ADI, paving the way for stablecoin and tokenized‑asset support.

BNY plants a digital asset flag in ADGM

BNY has announced the launch of institutional digital asset custody services anchored in Abu Dhabi Global Market, positioning itself as the first U.S. global systemically important bank to offer crypto custody from the UAE’s financial free zone. According to a press release cited by Yahoo, the platform will initially support custody for Bitcoin and Ethereum, with expansion into stablecoins and tokenized real‑world assets planned once the service is live and regulatory approvals are secured.

The initiative is being delivered through a three‑way collaboration with Finstreet Limited and ADI Foundation. Finstreet, a digital market infrastructure group and Abu Dhabi–based multilateral trading facility operator, and ADI Foundation, described as a “sovereign‑grade blockchain infrastructure organization,” will provide the on‑the‑ground rails, while BNY supplies its global custody stack.

Bitcoin is entering one of its most consequential trading weeks since its February correction, with Middle East tensions pushing oil prices higher, inflation expectations hardening, and options traders positioning for a possible break above $85,000.

According to CryptoSlate's data, the largest digital asset briefly dipped on Sunday after President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s latest response to a US peace proposal, then recovered above $82,000 before easing near $81,034 as of press time.

The move kept Bitcoin inside the narrow range that has defined trading in recent weeks, even as geopolitical risk continued to feed into energy markets and rate expectations.

The biggest consensus overhaul in Solana history is officially live for testing



Solana developer Anza said Monday that Alpenglow, the network’s biggest proposed consensus overhaul to date, is live on a community test cluster, marking a major step toward a potential mainnet rollout.

The update means validator operators can now test software designed to move Solana from its current consensus system, which combines Proof-of-Stake with TowerBFT and Proof-of-History, toward a new architecture intended to dramatically reduce finality times and improve network responsiveness.

“Alpenglow is live on the community test cluster,” Anza wrote on X. “The biggest consensus change in Solana’s history, now running on validator infrastructure ahead of mainnet.”

Today, Solana relies on Proof-of-History, a cryptographic clock that timestamps transactions, alongside TowerBFT, a voting mechanism validators use to agree on the state of the blockchain. While the design has helped Solana achieve high throughput and low fees, some have pointed to outages and network instability during periods of heavy demand.
