Morpho Goes Live On Kaia Chain, Expanding DeFi Lending To Asian Crypto In a bold move to expand its DeFi capabilities and enable Asian-based crypto users to access advanced decentralized borrowing offerings without selling their existing holdings, Morpho, a decentralized lending protocol, today entered into a strategic integration with Kaia Chain, an EVM-compatible Layer‑1 blockchain. Announced on the X social media platform, Kaia disclosed that Morpho is now live on its blockchain network, a calculated move aiming to offer crypto users in the Asian region DeFi lending and yield products powered by crypto lender Morpho.
Kaia Chain is an innovative layer-1 blockchain network developed by the South Korea-based KakaoTalk messaging platform and the Japan-based LINE social platform. The EVM-compatible L1 public blockchain redefines the Web3 space, particularly in Asia, by capitalizing on its efficient integration with major messaging platforms (LINE and KakaoTalk), which collectively serve more than 250 million users.

JPMorgan's $30 billion Strategy call exposes Bitcoin's new market fault line

Strategy's capital markets machine may give Bitcoin a huge recurring buyer, but the same flywheel also means BTC could become increasingly dependent on one company's ability to keep issuing stock and preferred shares.

Wallets holding at least one million $ADA now control 25.09 billion tokens, an all-time high, representing 67.47% of the existing supply, per Santiment. That is the highest concentration in whale hands since July 2020, with the accumulation trend running uninterrupted since December 2023.
The token has shed 71% of its market cap over the past nine months, indicating that the largest holders have been buying into the price weakness.
Cardano's DeFi footprint has gone the opposite direction. Total value locked sits at $137 million, down from a December 2024 peak of around $686 million, an 80% drop, per DefiLlama.

Bitcoin fell to $78,600 on May 15 as bond yields surged to a 12 month high, rattling risk markets.

The US 10-year Treasury yield surged to 4.54% on May 15, its highest point since May 2025, after hotter than expected CPI and PPI data stoked fears of a Federal Reserve rate hike. The 30-year yield crossed 5% while the 2-year broke above 4%.

Inflation and yields hit crypto and equities

Bitcoin fell as low as $78,600, down roughly 4% from Thursday’s $82,000 high, before stabilising slightly above $79,000. The selloff spread to equities, with the Nasdaq 100 opening 1.7% lower and the S&P 500 falling 1.2%.

“The 10Y Note Yield is now above 4.50% for the first time since June 2025,” the Kobeissi Letter noted on X. “Rate hikes are now the base case for the Fed’s expected next move.”

Crypto-linked equities were hit harder. Coinbase dropped nearly 6%, Circle fell 7.4% and Strategy slid 5.4%. Bitcoin miners MARA Holdings and Hut 8 each lost around 7%, while Cipher Mining fell nearly 9%.

CME FedWatch showed more than 44% probability of a Fed rate hike by December, a sharp reversal from expectations of multiple rate cuts at the start of 2026. Gold fell 2.5% while oil rose 3%, crossing $100 per barrel as energy inflation compounded yield pressure.

April CPI came in at 3.8% while PPI matched 2022 levels at 6%, according to official data. Futures traders who began 2026 pricing two or more Fed cuts now expect rates to stay elevated through at least the first half of 2027.

Bitcoin remains below its 200-day moving average heading into the weekend, caught between a regulatory tailwind from the Clarity Act’s Senate progress and a macro headwind from rising yields and accelerating inflation.

Onchain observers flagged 150,000 AAVE moved to Galaxy Digital OTC and BitGo, raising questions about selling pressure, exit routes and DeFi blue-chip weakness during the current cycle for holders.

Multicoin Capital’s large AAVE position has become a public stress point after onchain data showed the firm sitting on more than $40 million in unrealized losses and appearing to reduce exposure. Between Oct. 13 and Nov. 25, 2025, Multicoin received 338,005 AAVE from a Galaxy Digital OTC wallet at an average price near $218, implying an outlay of roughly $73.7 million. With AAVE trading near $97, the position is worth about $32.8 million. For traders, the disclosure turns a high-conviction DeFi bet into a live liquidity event, where exit strategy matters almost as much as entry price.

DeFi Conviction Meets Market Reality

The original build looked like an institutional dip-buy. Multicoin accumulated across several tranches, including 210,000 AAVE after the Oct. 11 market sell-off and another 61,637 AAVE on Nov. 25 for about $10.94 million. At the time, the positioning fit a broader decentralized finance thesis around AAVE, one of the sector’s most recognized lending protocols. But conviction trades become harder to defend when drawdowns persist, especially in altcoin markets where deep OTC entry does not guarantee an equally painless exit.

The shift, scheduled for June 16, marks a departure from the monthly payout model that defines most dividend instruments and reflects a broader push to reshape yield products around digital asset strategies.

The company will maintain its stated annual dividend rate of 13%, yet the move to daily distributions raises the effective annual yield to about 13.88% through compounding across roughly 250 trading days. 

Chief executive officer Matthew Cole described the design as a structural innovation aimed at positioning SATA as an alternative to money market funds and other short-duration income vehicles.

The appeal rests on frequency. Investors receive cash flows each trading day rather than waiting for monthly cycles, which can improve reinvestment efficiency and portfolio liquidity. In practice, a holder of SATA stock would see small but consistent payments that compound over time, a feature that mirrors certain fixed income ladder strategies but within an equity wrapper.

Strive’s balance sheet changes form a key part of the narrative. The firm has eliminated all outstanding debt following the repurchase of long-term notes, leaving it without leverage, margin requirements, or encumbered bitcoin. That clean capital structure supports its pitch as a yield vehicle tied to digital assets without layered credit risk.
