Eligible users can now transfer Ondo tokenized assets from Ethereum and $BNB Chain to HyperEVM using the Ondo Bridge, powered by LayerZero. The initial rollout covers 35 assets, including SPYon, QQQon, NVDAon, TSLAon, and GOOGLon.

The move gives Hyperliquid users access to tokenized spot exposure that can be paired with perpetual positions on applicable markets. That setup opens the door to more capital efficient strategies such as basis trades, funding rate arbitrage, portfolio hedging, and delta neutral positioning, areas that have historically been harder to execute fully onchain.

Rather than building isolated liquidity pools for each asset, Ondo’s model tracks the underlying traditional securities listed on venues such as the NYSE and Nasdaq. The tokens are designed to provide economic exposure to the underlying asset’s price action and dividends, rather than direct ownership of the shares themselves.

The HyperEVM expansion builds on Ondo’s existing push into the Hyperliquid ecosystem. Felix Protocol previously launched access to more than 250 Ondo tokenized US equities on HyperEVM, giving onchain traders a way to access stock and ETF exposure without leaving crypto rails.

The Hyperliquid integration comes as Ondo Global Markets reached a new milestone, surpassing $1 billion in tokenized stock TVL less than eight months after launch and becoming the first tokenized stocks platform to cross that mark

The $XRP Ledger Foundation (XRPLF) has officially announced a major addition to its leadership ranks, welcoming Ripple Chief Technology Officer David Schwartz as an Honorary Board Member.

The appointment brings one of the most prominent and deeply knowledgeable figures in the cryptocurrency space directly into the fold of the independent non-profit tasked with fostering the XRPL ecosystem.

The Foundation announced the news via X (formerly Twitter), highlighting Schwartz’s foundational role in the creation of the network.

"We’re honored to welcome David Schwartz (@JoelKatz) as an Honorary Board Member of the $XRP Ledger Foundation," the organization stated. "As one of the original architects of the $XRP Ledger, David brings deep technical insight and a long-term perspective that will help strengthen the Foundation’s technical stewardship of the ecosystem."

Schwartz, known affectionately across the crypto community by his handle "@JoelKatz," is a legendary figure within the $XRP ecosystem. In 2011, alongside Arthur Britto and Jed McCaleb, Schwartz was a core developer who built the original code for the $XRP Ledger—designing it as a faster, more energy-efficient alternative to the Bitcoin blockchain.

Currently serving as the CTO of Ripple, Schwartz has remained the most vocal and technically authoritative advocate for the XRPL, frequently engaging with developers, validators, and community members on social media to debate protocol mechanics and future upgrades.

Strengthening technical stewardship

The $XRP Ledger Foundation operates as an independent, non-profit entity separate from Ripple. The National Assembly’s National Policy Committee left the proposed Digital Asset Basic Act off the agenda during its final bill-review subcommittee meeting before parliamentary recess on May 12.

South Korea delays Digital Asset Basic Act ahead of June elections
South Korea has delayed debate on its main digital asset bill until after June elections, postponing long-awaited rules for stablecoins, crypto exchanges, and institutional investors in one of the world’s busiest retail crypto markets.

The National Assembly’s National Policy Committee left the proposed Digital Asset Basic Act off the agenda during its final bill-review subcommittee meeting before parliamentary recess on May 12.

Lawmakers are unlikely to revisit the bill before the June 3 local elections.

As Cryptopolitan reported in late 2025, the bill has been stuck for months due to unresolved disputes between the Financial Services Commission and the Bank of Korea over stablecoin oversight. The May 12 omission extends that pattern.

What the bill would do?

The Digital Asset Basic Act is the second phase of South Korea’s crypto regulatory framework. The country passed its first major investor-protection law, the Virtual Asset User Protection Act, in 2023.

The proposed second-phase bill would require licensing and disclosure rules for crypto firms, ban insider trading and market manipulation, create a Digital Asset Committee to oversee policy, introduce custody rules for customer assets, and establish reserve and capital requirements for stablecoin issuers.

Under the proposal, stablecoin issuers would need at least 50 billion won ($35 million) in capital, mirroring standards already applied to electronic-money businesses.

Several major provisions remain unresolved. Lawmakers are still debating whether banks should be required to hold majority stakes in stablecoin ventures.

Officials have also not finalized ownership restrictions for crypto exchanges and other virtual-asset businesses.

Blended year-over-year (YoY) earnings per share growth for the S&P 500 is tracking at 27%-28%, marking the highest quarterly growth since Q4 2021. Meanwhile, blended YoY revenue growth is around 11.3%, marking the highest since Q2/Q3 2022.
