Bitcoin ($BTC) hovers around $80,000 at press time on Friday, as the broader crypto market sentiment steadies amid Donald Trump's visit to China, while the Iran war stalemate persists. However, altcoins such as Hyperliquid ($HYPE) and Flare ($FLR) have emerged as top performers over the last 24 hours with double-digit gains.

Bitcoin encounters a strong resistance wall

Bitcoin's instability around $80,000 over the last few days keeps the broader market sentiment trapped in neutral territory. CoinMarketCap's Crypto Fear and Greed Index at 50 reaffirms the market's indecisive mood, while multiple downticks so far this month are consistent with bearish whipsaws.

Gemini Stock Jumps After Winklevoss Twins Make $100M Bitcoin Bet on Company Future

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss announced a $100 million Bitcoin-funded investment into Gemini alongside a Q1 earnings report showing 42% year-over-year revenue growth.
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss made their boldest statement yet about Gemini Space Station’s future: a $100 million strategic investment into their own company, funded not with cash but with Bitcoin. 

The announcement, paired with a first-quarter earnings report that showed 42% revenue growth year-over-year, sent GEMI shares climbing more than 20% in after-hours trading Thursday night.

Gemini (NASDAQ: GEMI) reported total revenue of $50.3 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, driven by a surge in services and OTC revenue. Services and interest income jumped 122% to $24.5 million, while credit card revenue climbed 300% to $14.7 million. The net loss narrowed to $109 million, an improvement from the $141 million loss recorded in the same quarter of 2025. Shares closed at $5.26 on Wednesday before the earnings release, then hit $6.33 in extended trading — representing a gain of over 20%.

Shares were up over 30% this morning before settling at the time of writing. The headline move, however, was the Bitcoin-denominated investment. Winklevoss Capital Fund purchased 7.1 million shares at $14 per share — nearly triple the stock’s recent market price of around $4.92. 

Tyler Winklevoss, the company’s CEO, said in a statement: “We believe the market has significantly undervalued Gemini, and that this investment will allow us to set up the company for its next phase of growth.” 

The $14 entry price, paid in Bitcoin, signals the twins’ conviction that both the company and the flagship digital asset have room to run.

Hoskinson Outlines Cardano Strategy Against Future Quantum Computing Threats 
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently revealed how the project plans to address the long-term risks posed by quantum computing.


Speaking in an interview on Gokhshtein News Network, Hoskinson indicated that Cardano is proactively addressing concerns surrounding quantum computing before they become an immediate threat.

Although experts believe practical quantum threats remain years away, several blockchain projects, including Cardano, have already started researching quantum-resistant alternatives.

Charles Hoskinson revealed that Cardano is proactively preparing for the potential long-term risks posed by quantum computing.

Hoskinson said the network is currently voting on a dedicated quantum strategy, with a research proposal centered on quantum resistance expected next week.

He noted that the initiative involves several partners alongside multiple advanced technical components designed to strengthen Cardano’s future security.

Hoskinson also sought to ease concerns about implementing quantum-related upgrades, noting that Cardano already conducts regular hard forks each year.

$ETH price is pressing the lower rail of the rising wedge near $2,236, the line that has defined $ETH’s recovery since the February low at $1,800. The 20 EMA at $2,300 and 50 EMA at $2,273 have both flipped back above price after acting as support through most of May. That is a near-term bearish shift and the first time both EMAs have been overhead simultaneously since early April.

The MACD crossed below its signal line with the histogram flipping negative at -12.10, the first bearish cross since early April. Overhead, the 100 EMA at $2,337 and 200 EMA at $2,572 are the levels that matter on any recovery attempt
