The biggest consensus overhaul in Solana history is officially live for testingSolana developer Anza said Monday that Alpenglow, the network's biggest proposed consensus overhaul to date, is live on a community test cluster, marking a major step toward a potential mainnet rollout.

The update means validator operators can now test software designed to move Solana from its current consensus system, which combines Proof-of-Stake with TowerBFT and Proof-of-History, toward a new architecture intended to dramatically reduce finality times and improve network responsiveness.

"Alpenglow is live on the community test cluster," Anza wrote on X. "The biggest consensus change in Solana's history, now running on validator infrastructure ahead of mainnet."

Today, Solana relies on Proof-of-History, a cryptographic clock that timestamps transactions, alongside TowerBFT, a voting mechanism validators use to agree on the state of the blockchain.

While the design has helped Solana achieve high throughput and low fees, some have pointed to outages and network instability during periods of heavy demand.

Expert Dismisses Warnings Targeting New Shiba Inu Investors
Market commentator LuckSide Crypto has pushed back against recent warnings targeting new Shiba Inu investors, arguing that the concerns ignore the project’s improving fundamentals and growing market resilience. 

LuckSide issued the rebuttal while discussing SHIB’s recent price performance. According to him, the altcoin market recently climbed to its highest level since February 3, signaling renewed investor confidence across the broader crypto sector.

In particular, he noted that Shiba Inu could experience a larger bullish reversal if momentum remains strong.

Furthermore, LuckSide noted that SHIB has steadily gained value in recent weeks, rising more than 4% at the time of his commentary. He added that the meme coin could potentially eliminate one zero from its price if the current bullish trend continues.

The US-Iran conflict has yet to reach an agreement to end the war. This indicates that tensions persist, while the leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin ($BTC) continues its strong performance above $80,000.

Analyses also indicate that Bitcoin surpassing and remaining above the $80,000 level signals an improvement in the market structure.

Bitfinex analysts stated in their weekly report that Bitcoin surged by approximately 12% last April, recording its strongest monthly return in the past year.

Analysts said the factors driving this rise were not increased leverage in derivatives markets, but rather spot purchases, ETF inflows, and accumulation by long-term investors.

“Bitcoin has risen above the ‘Real Market Average’ of approximately $79,800, a key indicator based on the current average price.”

This is seen as a significant improvement in terms of market structure.”

Bitfinex analysts noted a structural improvement in Bitcoin, while QCP Capital analysts also released their short-term price prediction for $BTC.

Accordingly, QCP Capital analysts stated that $BTC is likely to trade sideways below the $84,000 resistance level this week.

QCP analysts identified the US-China summit and US inflation data as key market variables this week, and predicted that $BTC will continue to trade in a range below the $84,000 resistance for now.

QCP stated that despite recent spot ETF outflows, $BTC maintaining the $80,000 level is a positive sign.

QCP Capital suggests that if this week’s CPI and PPI data show signs of stabilizing inflation, it could create a favorable environment for Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market.

The firm also added that the U.S. Senate Banking Committee is scheduled to review the Clarity Act bill, and developments in these discussions could affect ETF and institutional fund flows.
