Spot $SOL ETFs captured more than $39 million in net inflows over the last week, a period when futures market activity spiked, revealing that both traditional investors and crypto traders are placing increasing wagers on Solana’s next move higher.

Solana’s native token is up about 15% over the past seven days, trading near $97. The move higher is being reinforced by aligned ETF inflows, increased derivatives positioning, and improving technical momentum—factors that together are restoring bullish sentiment after months of subdued price action.

ETF inflows are being viewed as a key signal of growing institutional interest in Solana. Analysts note that consistent inflows over recent sessions suggest that large investors are gradually increasing exposure to the asset.

The most recent inflow momentum came from Bitwise’s BSOL ETF, which saw net inflows of around $36 million over the past week. Fidelity’s FSOL ETF has raised a new round of more than $1.8 million in fresh capital.

BSOL has received over $861 million in inflows since its launch (over 81% of the existing spot Solana ETF inflows). There are about $1.06 billion cumulative inflows across spot $SOL ETFs. Also supporting the ETF momentum is increased activity in the derivatives market. Solana futures open interest soared to $6.4 billion from $4.94 billion on May 1.

There was an increase in the aggregated spot cumulative volume delta (CVD), with the difference between buying and selling orders rising to nearly $250 million from $163 million over five days, as $SOL moved toward the $96 level.

Meanwhile, futures CVD increased to about $593.6 million after steady growth from May 5 onward. Analysts suggest this will indicate that buyers keep buying on sell-side liquidity and that, in a volatile time, bullish traders are hanging in, hanging out.

Canadian crypto users have long been forced into an awkward workaround: convert their loonies to US dollars, buy a USD stablecoin, then finally do something useful onchain. CADD, Canada’s first regulated Canadian dollar stablecoin, just landed on Coinbase’s Base network, and it’s designed to kill that extra step entirely.

Launched on May 4 by Tetra Digital Group, CADD is pegged 1:1 to the Canadian dollar and backed by CAD reserves. It received regulatory approval from the Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, making it not just another stablecoin experiment but a fully sanctioned financial product operating within Canada’s regulatory framework.

The institutional backing here is worth paying attention to. National Bank of Canada, ATB Financial, Wealthsimple, and Shopify are all supporting the project.

Tetra Trust, the entity behind Tetra Digital Group, holds a distinction that matters in this context: it’s Canada’s first regulated digital asset custodian.

The stablecoin is currently live on three platforms: Base, the Ethereum mainnet, and Tempo. Solana integration is planned for a future date.

Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum layer-2 network, has processed over 167 million transactions in agentic economies, making it one of the most active L2s in the ecosystem.

For CADD, launching on Base makes strategic sense. The network offers lower transaction costs than Ethereum mainnet while maintaining the security guarantees of Ethereum’s base layer. For a stablecoin designed to facilitate everyday transactions and 24/7 trade settlements, keeping fees low isn’t optional.

Canadian traders who wanted to move between crypto and their local currency faced limited options, wider spreads, and the constant friction of USD conversion. CADD has the potential to change that dynamic by providing direct CAD liquidity onchain.

This “quiet accumulation” signals institutional confidence in XRP, one analyst said.

 exchange-traded funds in the U.S. recorded their largest daily net inflows in over four months on Monday.

According to data from SoSoValue, the XRP funds logged $25.8 million in positive flows on Monday, across three funds. Franklin Templeton's XRPZ led with $13.6 million in inflows, followed by Bitwise's XRP with $7.6 million and Grayscale's GXRP with $4.6 million.

Monday's inflows were the largest daily net inflows since Jan. 5, when the funds reported a combined inflow of $46 million.

"Capital is rotating back into crypto as a maturing asset class, with XRP benefiting from post-regulatory clarity and its real-world utility in payments," said Andri Fauzan Adziima, research lead at Bitrue Research Institute. "It's a quiet accumulation, but it signals confidence that XRP belongs alongside the blue chips."

Major institutions have recently selected the XRP ledger to test blockchain-enabled payment rails. Last week, Ripple announced that it had teamed up with JPMorgan, Mastercard, and Ondo Finance for a pilot transaction of tokenized U.S. treasuries across borders.

Notable inflows into XRP funds align with larger capital flowing into bitcoin ETFs in recent weeks. Spot bitcoin ETFs are on their way to record their seventh consecutive week of net inflows, during which they drew in over $3.4 billion. Solana ETFs also recorded $26.6 million in net inflows on Monday, their largest since Feb. 25. 

Spot Ethereum ETFs, on the other hand, reported about $16.9 million worth of net outflows on Monday.

A senior White House official has accused major banking trade leaders of refusing to join earlier talks on stablecoin rewards, escalating a dispute that has become one of the final pressure points ahead of the Senate Banking Committee taking up the CLARITY Act this week.

In a May 11 post on the social media platform X, Patrick Witt, executive director of the White House Presidential Advisory Committee on Digital Assets, said he had asked American Bankers Association President Rob Nichols and other bank trade CEOs to attend the February meetings aimed at resolving the question of stablecoin rewards and yield.

The criticism injected the White House more directly into a fight that has divided banks, crypto companies, and lawmakers ahead of a scheduled May 14 markup of the CLARITY Act.

The bill is designed to create a broader market structure framework for digital assets, but the treatment of stablecoin rewards has become a flashpoint over competition for deposits, consumer yield, and the future shape of dollar-based payments.

Witt’s comments also reframed the timing of the banking industry’s objections. Rather than a new technical concern emerging before a committee vote, the White House official cast the dispute as an unresolved issue that banking leaders had an opportunity to address months earlier.
