Analyst sets Bitcoin price target amid fresh capital inflowsAfter Bitcoin ($BTC) price struggled to rally beyond $82,200 last week, trading expert Michaël van de Poppe has issued a near-term prediction.

Bitcoin price remains on an upward trajectory despite its recent correction, according to analysis from Poppe shared on May 11, 2026. He argued that $BTC price has strong bullish momentum because it has not broken below its 21-day Moving Average (MA).

Additionally, Poppe countered the rising bearish sentiment, as Finbold highlighted, noting that the flagship coin has not violated its rising structure, characterized by higher highs and higher lows. As such, the analyst set the next major resistance range for Bitcoin price between $86,549 and $90,364.

The near-term bullish outlook for Bitcoin could, however, be invalidated if it consistently closes below a liquidity range between $71,438 and $73,408. If $BTC breaks below this support range, the analyst has set $65,117 as the next hurdle before capitulating to a potential bear-market bottom between $59,600 and $60,749.

As Bitcoin [BTC] pushed toward the $80,500–$81,000 region, miner activity increasingly shaped broader market momentum beneath the surface. Public mining firms distributed nearly 32,000 BTC during Q1 2026 alone. That figure exceeded total liquidations recorded throughout all of 2025.

Part of that pressure emerged from tightening post-halving economics across the mining sector. Notably, the Hashprice hovered between $33 and $40 per PH/s per day, remaining near breakeven levels for older mining fleets. As profitability compressed, firms including MARA, Riot, CleanSpark, and Bitdeer increasingly converted reserves into cash.

Meanwhile, Glassnode data shows repeated miner distribution near Bitcoin’s highs suggests operators still prioritize liquidity preservation as post-halving profitability pressures remain elevated.
