What Is the XRP Domino Theory? Analyst Explains How XRP Could Benefit From a Crisis

Crypto analyst Jake Claver is again making bold predictions around $XRP through what he calls the “Domino Theory.” In his latest video, Claver explained how a chain reaction involving oil prices, Japan, stablecoins, banks, and crypto markets could eventually trigger a major liquidity crisis, with $XRP potentially becoming one of the biggest beneficiaries.

Domino 1: Oil Shock and Global Tension

According to Claver, the first domino starts with rising geopolitical tension involving Iran, Russia, China, and the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that any disruption to oil supply could push energy prices sharply higher and create fresh inflation pressure across global markets.

Japan is one of the biggest concerns in this scenario because it relies heavily on imported energy.

Domino 2: Japan’s Carry Trade Unwinds

Claver explained that investors have borrowed cheap Japanese yen for decades and invested that money into assets like stocks, bonds, Bitcoin, gold, and crypto.

If inflation forces the Bank of Japan to raise interest rates aggressively, those trades may quickly unwind. That would pull liquidity out of global markets and trigger heavy selling pressure across risk assets.

The growing inflow of capital into equities appears to be having a direct impact on the crypto market.

Historically, capital moving into the U.S. stock market has often come at the expense of riskier assets like Bitcoin [BTC], as investors have favored equities for their perceived lower volatility and steady long-term upside.

But is this cycle beginning to shift? Notably, at the center of this dynamic is Strategy [MSTR].

In a recent post, Michael Saylor highlighted that trading volume for the STRC index on the 14th of May closed at a record $1.53 billion.

This marked the fourth consecutive day of trading above the $100 level, a threshold that indirectly supports MSTR’s ability to accumulate more BT

Notably, MSTR CEO Phong Le followed up with another post, stating,

The market reacted quickly, with speculation around how much Bitcoin the index enabled MSTR to acquire, with recent estimates pointing to nearly 20,000 BTC accumulated. 

This reinforces STRC’s role as a key driver of Bitcoin demand in the current cycle. But according to AMBCrypto, the timing is highly significant.

With weakening technical momentum and fading institutional bids, equity market inflows may now be structurally driving incremental Bitcoin demand, potentially signaling a divergence in this cycle’s capital flow dynamics.

The new feature uses Stratum V2 to enable miners at the pool engaging in their own block template construction to also handle the selection and inclusion of merge-mined block commitments from the Rootstock (RSK) sidechain as well.
Merge-mining is a process by which multiple blockchains can share, or “reuse”, the same POW from the same set of miners. One blockchain, the child chain, structures its block headers to include the headers of the parent chain, i.e. the hash of the child chain’s block header is actually included inside a parent chain block (usually in the coinbase transaction), and software for the child chain is aware of this, actually validating part of the parent chain’s blocks in the process of verifying the child chain’s blocks.
This allows miners of the parent chain to mine multiple blockchains at once by simply including blockheader commitments in their coinbase transaction, and then mining blocks for the parent blockchain. When one is found for the parent chain, one is found for all of the child chains as well.

Bitcoin ($BTC) risks starting its “next downtrend” as bulls fail to break beyond $82,000, the latest analysis warns.

Bitcoin traders are beginning to sway toward a support retest or even a new "downtrend" for $BTC/USD.

Current price behavior has retained overhead resistance, with bulls unable to push through $82,000.

Rangebound crypto markets spark $330 million in liquidations over 24 hours.

Bitcoin traders are increasingly split on where $BTC/USD will go next, but calls for lower levels are growing.

“For now, price remains in range, within value, rotating just above the very key ‘range high,’” trading account JDK Analysis wrote in its latest updates on X.

As Cointelegraph reported, that rangebound construction, in place through most of May, is bordered by a CME futures gap and a key 200-day trend line to the upside.

With both staying in place for now, market participants are starting to assume that the bottom of the range will be retested instead.

“Now it’s important to watch how price reacts at the support zone we already bounced from once before. In my opinion, we will likely break below it this time,” CGT Trader said.

Trader BitBull went further, seeing the risk of a protracted period of downside $BTC price pressure about to enter.

“$BTC failed to reclaim the $82,000 level again,” they told X followers on Friday.

Trading circles are not without their more optimistic takes.Cryptic Trades predicts that $BTC/USD will follow in the footsteps of US stock markets, which continue to post new all-time highs.

“$BTC is going to play a massive catch-up in the upcoming weeks,” it summarized.

Examining the Bollinger Bands volatility indicator, meanwhile, trader Cai Soren said that bulls “stepped in instantly” to defend support.
