The controversy centers on a financial operation detected in early April. According to market data, the firm obtained a $75 million credit using 5 billion $WLFI tokens as collateral, theoretically valued at $440 million.

The operation included $65.4 million in the project’s own stablecoin, USD1, and 10.3 million in USDC. Reports indicate that Corey Caplan, Head of Technology at World Liberty Financial, also holds executive roles at Dolomite, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest.

Following the disclosure of these movements, the $WLFI token fell 10%. According to Senator Warren, the size of the transaction affected Dolomite’s liquidity, preventing other users from withdrawing their funds in a timely manner.

Whale Alert for a Well-Established Altcoin! Unseen Data Since 2023 Emerges! Here Are the Details

Cardano ($ADA), one of the oldest and largest altcoins in the cryptocurrency market, is not performing as expected in terms of price.

However, large investors are increasing their $ADA accumulation. On-chain data platform Santiment has found that the amount of $ADA accumulated by whales has reached its highest level since 2023.

“Cardano’s key stakeholders have been steadily accumulating holdings since December 2023, adding progressively larger portions of the available supply to their portfolios.”

According to data released by Santiment, wallets holding more than 1 million $ADA have a total of 25.009 billion $ADA. This represents approximately 67.47% of the total circulating supply and is the highest level since July 2020.

At this point, Santiment noted that $ADA accumulation by whales has continued uninterrupted since December 2023.

This accumulation coincides with a period in which $ADA’s market value decreased by approximately 71%. This indicates that large investors consistently increased their purchases despite the price drop.

Although whale purchases have increased, DeFi activity within the Cardano ecosystem has significantly decreased.

According to DefiLlama, Cardano’s Total Value Locked (TVL) is currently around $137 million. This represents a decrease of approximately 80% compared to the nearly $686 million recorded last December, indicating a slowdown in on-chain availability.

Cardano-based decentralized exchanges (DEXs) generated approximately $1.95 million in daily trading volume. Over the past 24 hours, network fee revenue was $1,767, while on-chain revenue was approximately $353. The number of daily active wallets remained at 15,975.

Bitcoin price held above $79,000 after the US Senate confirmed Kevin Warsh as the next Federal Reserve chair, a leadership change markets are reading as potentially supportive for risk assets and digital asset policy.

Against that backdrop, attention has broadened from spot BTC to Bitcoin infrastructure plays. One of the projects drawing fresh interest is Bitcoin Hyper (HYPER), which says its presale has now raised more than $32.6 million as it prepares to launch a Bitcoin Layer 2 built on the Solana Virtual Machine.

The project is pitching itself as a way to address Bitcoin’s long-running speed and cost constraints ahead of its token generation event, while offering staking during the presale.

Earlier this week, the Senate approved Kevin Warsh’s nomination to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in a 51-45 vote, then confirmed him as Fed chair on Wednesday by a 54-45 margin. The vote clears the way for Warsh to replace Jerome Powell as Powell’s term as chair ends on May 15.

Warsh, a former Fed governor and Morgan Stanley executive, has disclosed holdings tied to DeFi protocols, Ethereum scaling networks, a Bitcoin Lightning startup, and prediction markets. He has said he will divest those positions following confirmation.

For traders, the immediate takeaway was the prospect of a more market-oriented approach to rates and digital asset oversight. Bitcoin’s ability to rebound from the $79,000 area reinforced that view. Analyst Lennaert Snyder, who had been tracking that level closely, said a sustained hold there could open the way to prices above $81,000.
