Samsung Wallet to add USDC transfers for US Galaxy users in October

Samsung plans to launch USDC transfers in its Samsung Wallet app for US Galaxy users in late October. This feature will allow users to send the stablecoin to external crypto wallets and to transfer money internationally to bank accounts in over 60 countries, where funds can be received in local currency. It will be available on 82 million compatible US devices, with identity verification required. While transfers to external wallets will be free, international bank transfers will incur fees. The service will be supported by partners including Bastion for infrastructure, Coinbase for custody, and Solana and Sui as technical collaborators.

Samsung to Launch USDC Transfers on Solana Network Across 82 Million Samsung Galaxy Devices in the US

Samsung is partnering with Solana to enable cross-border USDC transfers via the Samsung Wallet for users in the United States. The feature will be available on 82 million Galaxy devices starting in late October. Users will be able to send money overseas using USDC on the Solana network directly through the existing Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay apps, without needing a separate crypto application. Built-in fiat conversion will automatically handle the exchange to and from local currency, with the Solana network processing transactions in the background for a seamless and familiar user experience. Samsung also stated the feature will be expanded to other markets in compliance with local regulations.

Google packs AI search into phones, under 600MB, enabling offline search of photos, videos, and recordings

Google open-sourced EmbeddingGemma 2, a 740M-parameter model that fits under 600MB, enabling offline, multimodal AI search directly on devices like phones and laptops. It can search across text, images, video, and audio in a shared semantic space, allowing queries like "bird singing" to find relevant photos and audio clips. The model supports over 100 languages and features a 4x larger context window than its predecessor. Benchmarks show it significantly outperforms similar-sized models in image and video retrieval. It’s modular, so developers can load only the text (270M), image (170M), or audio (300M) components as needed. The model enables local, privacy-preserving search applications and has been integrated into tools for local media search, code retrieval, and more.

THORWallet introduces private swaps for BTC, ETH, and more

THORWallet has partnered with NEAR Intents to introduce confidential cross-chain swaps for assets like BTC and ETH. Users can enable private swaps via a toggle, which adds privacy by obscuring the on-chain link between sent and received funds, though it costs slightly more than standard swaps. While source and destination transactions remain visible on native chain explorers, they appear as standard transfers, hiding full swap execution details. Unlike regular NEAR Intents swaps tracked by public explorers, confidential swaps shield these details, making it harder to connect deposits to withdrawals. This feature is part of THORWallet's broader goal to create an all-in-one "Robinhood of DeFi" experience, combining self-custody, cross-chain swaps, DeFi access, and real-world finance tools in a single mobile app.

World Adds Post-Quantum Security to New Toolkit for ZK Proofs

World has launched Provekit v1, an open-source, production-ready toolkit for generating zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs directly on smartphones and web browsers. Integrated with World ID, it allows users to verify personal information without exposing underlying private data. The toolkit incorporates 128-bit post-quantum security, aligning with standards like NIST, to safeguard against future quantum attacks that could forge proofs, though it noted that local ZK proof generation already protects raw biometric data from "Harvest Now, Decrypt Later" risks. Provekit uses the WHIR hash-based commitment scheme, eliminating the need for trusted setup and enabling low-end devices to perform computations. It generates proofs in seconds on standard smartphones, with an average proof size of about 1 MB. For on-chain verification like on Ethereum, World recommends recursive verification using compact proof systems such as Groth16. Developers can create custom proofs using Aztec's Noir language, and the software supports reading encrypted data from NFC-enabled ID documents, with all data stored locally and inaccessible to third parties. World is already developing Provekit v2 to further reduce proof sizes and memory usage while improving on-chain verification efficiency.

Alliance DAO and FOMO Founder Lay Their Cards on the Table: 70% in US Stocks, Crypto Reserves Only BTC and Zcash, Refusing to Catch Falling Knives on Altcoins

In a recent "Steady Lads Podcast," major crypto figures revealed surprisingly conservative personal portfolios amidst Bitcoin's rally above $80k. Alliance DAO's Qiao Wang holds 70-80% in US stocks, with crypto exposure limited to Bitcoin and Zcash. Others like Tiki follow an extreme barbell strategy (S&P 500/Treasuries + Pokémon cards), while Jordy holds mostly Bitcoin. Zcash emerged as a shared conviction play, cited for its decade-long consolidation, cleared sell pressure, and potential as a "private AI money." FOMO's co-founder shared data showing ~40k daily non-crypto native users flocking to mobile meme trading apps, treating it as a social game. Macro views diverged: some see Bitcoin as a dollar-hedge alongside gold, while others find better risk/reward in AI stocks. The consensus: smart money is concentrating in high-quality assets, abandoning illiquid altcoins.

Solana Mobile SKR Token Tops Weekly Gainers In Crypto Top 200

Solana Mobile's SKR token surged to become one of the top weekly gainers among the top 200 cryptocurrencies, refocusing market attention on Solana's mobile ecosystem. This rally highlights the ambitious but challenging strategy of using hardware and mobile distribution to make crypto more accessible to consumers. While the token's momentum provides a clear narrative for traders speculating on Solana's consumer-facing growth, the article cautions that strong weekly performance does not equate to proven, long-term adoption or sustainable product demand. The key test ahead is whether Solana Mobile can convert this market excitement into tangible user adoption, device demand, and developer activity to support the token's value beyond short-term speculation.

Bitcoin.com CEO Corbin Fraser stated this closes a key gap for users who need to send USDT on TRON. TRON Founder Justin Sun highlighted the network's scale, with over $90 billion in USDT and significant daily volume. The integration is now live on iOS, Android, and web, simplifying stablecoin transactions for Bitcoin.com Wallet's global user base.
