Resumen

Matt Hogan, a top executive at Bitwise, assessed Bitcoin's prospects for the remainder of the year. He identified the lack of significant negative price reaction to bad news as a sign a local bottom may be forming, suggesting sellers have exited the market. Key supportive factors include continued inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs and large investors increasing their Bitcoin allocations. Hogan estimates some portfolios now hold 4-5% in Bitcoin, surpassing the traditional 1% benchmark. He also noted a rise in wallets holding over 10,000 BTC, reaching a six-month high. The demand structure for Bitcoin is shifting, according to Hogan. While corporate investors like MicroStrategy were previously dominant accumulators, the advent of spot ETFs has simplified access for traditional financial institutions, leveling the playing field. Hogan concluded that future market dynamics will increasingly depend on growing demand and the rising allocation of Bitcoin within investment funds and large company portfolios.

Hogan considers one of the signs of a local bottom forming to be the lack of a noticeable reaction from the first cryptocurrency to negative news.

"Bad news has stopped affecting the market. The sellers are gone. When bad news stops affecting the market, it means the bottom has been reached," explained the Bitwise top executive.

He named the inflow of funds into spot Bitcoin ETFs as one of the factors that could support the market until the end of the year. Simultaneously, large investors are increasing their share of Bitcoin in portfolios. According to Hogan's estimate, the actual share of the first cryptocurrency for some already reaches 4-5% against the standard benchmark of 1%.

The investment director cited the increase in the number of wallets with a balance of 10,000 $BTC or more as an additional sign of interest in Bitcoin. Over the past eight weeks, their number has grown to 90, updating the six-month high.

Against this background, Hogan believes, the structure of demand for Bitcoin is changing. Previously, corporate investors played a noticeable role in accumulating the first cryptocurrency, with the most famous example being MicroStrategy, the largest publicly traded holder of $BTC. However, the advent of spot ETFs has simplified access to Bitcoin for traditional financial institutions and reduced the advantage of corporate investors, the Bitwise executive is convinced.

The further dynamics of the crypto market will increasingly depend on the growth of demand and the increase in Bitcoin's share in the portfolios of investment funds and large companies, concluded the top manager.

Earlier, Matt Hogan stated that investors are too focused on the short-term price fluctuations of Bitcoin and are trying to determine the minimum level before a new rise.

Weak US Employment and $1.1 Billion into ETFs: Wintermute on the New Rally and Inflation Risks

Analysts at Wintermute stated that the cryptocurrency market gained support following a weak U.S. jobs report. Against this backdrop, U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs collectively attracted $1.1 billion in inflows over the week. While demand via ETFs has recovered, there is insufficient data to confirm a sustainable shift in market sentiment. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw inflows of $853.5 million over five sessions, the best weekly result since mid-April. Ethereum ETFs attracted another $244.9 million, marking a fifth consecutive positive week. Over 80% of the inflows into both groups went to BlackRock. Wintermute notes that relatively restrained trading volumes may indicate large investors gradually building positions rather than short-term capital rotation. A disappointing U.S. employment report for July, which showed a loss of 23,000 jobs versus an expected gain of 80,000, led markets to reduce the probability of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September. This supported risk assets, including crypto. However, Wintermute cautions that the upcoming U.S. Consumer Price Index report on August 12 poses a key test. Higher-than-expected inflation could revive rate hike fears above 50%, risking a reversal of the recent rally. Beyond ETFs, institutional adoption of blockchain infrastructure continues, exemplified by Wells Fargo's planned launch of tokenized deposits. Wintermute views this as banks modernizing their settlement systems, which could eventually support broader digital asset integration. The firm concludes that while the ETF inflows are a positive signal, one week is not enough to confirm a durable trend, and the market remains highly sensitive to macroeconomic data, particularly inflation.
