The Solana price forecast for September 9 will remain bullish only if $SOL holds above $103.35 today—a level that maintains accessibility to $109 and, if lost, risks a decline back to $98.76.
Solana Price Analysis: Can $SOL Overcome the Supertrend Flip at $103.35?
$SOL is trading around $102.75, down 1% today, following a sharp breakout in late August that lifted it from $70 to a high of $109.65 in a few weeks, overcoming a resistance band around $98–$101 that had capped all advances since February. This former resistance zone is now a level to watch as support.
The Supertrend indicator, which accurately captured all major swings this year with buy signals around $75 and $60 and sell signals around $145 and $109, is currently at $103.35 in sell mode, meaning today's pullback is keeping $SOL just below the level that could flip it back to buy mode. The price remains above all four EMAs: the 20-day at $98.76, the 50-day at $89.96, the 100-day at $85.73, and the 200-day at $91.21, maintaining an uptrend even with today's dip.

$SOL News: Transaction Throughput Upgrade Activates Today
Solana is increasing the maximum transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes today, September 9, via an upgrade called Transaction v1, according to Solana Foundation VP of Technology, Jacob Creech. The old limit dated back to Solana's original network protocol and persisted even after the network changed its data transmission method in 2022.

The practical effect: previously, developers had to split complex operations—zero-knowledge proofs, large multi-signature approvals, batch trading—across multiple transactions, paying separate fees for each. A transaction size more than triple the old limit means these operations can now fit into one.
$SOL News: RWA Holders Surpass 400,000 as Exchange Balances Hit Annual High

Solana's official account reported that the number of RWA holders on the network exceeded 400,000 for the first time, up from less than 10,000 in January 2025:
- RWA Holders: 400,000+ (up from less than 10,000 in January 2025)
- Exchange Balances: $175+ million, the highest level since September 2025, according to SolanaFloor
- FOMO Alone: nearly $100 million, more than all other Solana exchange balances combined
Two different metrics, the same direction. More real-world assets are moving onto Solana, and more capital is held within applications built on it—growth that persists even as $SOL trades below its recent high today.

Solana Price Forecast: Bull and Bear Scenarios for September 9
Bull Case, Target: $109
$SOL holds above $98.76 and overcomes the Supertrend flip at $103.35. Trader Wayne Liang's system captured a buy signal around $75 and a sell around $109 during the last rally; he anticipates a new buy signal soon, with the $109 level marked as the previous target. The clean launch of Transaction v1 adds fundamental tailwinds on top of the technical setup.
Bear Case, Risk Level: $89.98 (Supertrend/EMA50 Confluence)
$SOL loses $98.76 and gives back its recent breakout. Closing below $89.98, where the Supertrend support and the 50-day EMA converge, indicates stalled momentum, especially if ETF outflows continue.
Expert Perspective
$SOL dipping on the day of an upgrade launch isn't bad news—it's standard market behavior. Typically, when a project announces an upgrade weeks in advance, traders start buying the news early, so much of the buying is already done by the actual activation date. What remains today looks like profit-taking, not doubt.

The real thing to watch isn't today's price, but whether developers start utilizing the higher transaction limit in the coming weeks. That's the part that can't be traded in advance.
