Bitcoin Treasuries Have Grown 448% Since Jan 2023: Here’s How Much They Hold Now
According to Glassnode data, Bitcoin treasuries held by public and private companies have grown explosively since 2023, increasing by 448% from 197,000 BTC in January 2023 to 1.08 million BTC currently. This represents over 5.4% of Bitcoin's circulating supply, highlighting corporate balance sheets as a significant pillar of demand. MicroStrategy (now Strategy) is the dominant holder with 660,624 BTC, accounting for over 61% of corporate holdings. The trend accelerated in late 2024 and continued strongly throughout 2025, with other firms like Metaplanet also contributing. While Bitcoin treasuries surged, Ethereum also saw significant corporate accumulation, adding 309,000 ETH in November and 100,000 ETH so far in December. Bitcoin's price recently reached $94,500 before retracing to $92,200.
