Robinhood has published its financial results for the second quarter of 2026. Revenue reached a record $1.31 billion, with net profit at $573 million. Adjusted EBITDA amounted to $741 million with a 57% margin.
At the same time, net profit was partially boosted by one-off factors. It included $129 million in income, primarily due to the deconsolidation of Robinhood Ventures Fund I. This added approximately $0.14 to diluted earnings per share (EPS). Thus, nearly 23% of the company's quarterly profit came from one-off investment operations, not from core business activities, as stated in the press release.
Prediction Markets Outpace Cryptocurrencies and Stocks
A structural shift in the report was the emergence of prediction markets as one of the key components of the transactional business. Revenue from event contracts reached $156 million — a more than tenfold increase year-over-year. For comparison: stock-related revenue was $129 million (+95%), cryptocurrency revenue was $100 million (-38%). The volume of event contracts grew more than tenfold — to 13.6 billion contracts. The company also launched Rothera — a CFTC-licensed exchange and clearing platform in partnership with Susquehanna International Group.
Overall transaction-based revenue grew by 44% — to $776 million, accounting for approximately 59% of total revenue. The largest component remained options — $342 million (+29%).
Cryptocurrency: Declining Current Performance and Strategic Expansion
The cryptocurrency segment appears weak in the quarter's financial results: revenue fell by 38% — to $100 million, organic trading volume in the app decreased by 35% — to $18 billion. Total cryptocurrency volume was $40 billion, but $22 billion of that came from the recently acquired Bitstamp — meaning more than half of the consolidated volume was driven by non-organic activity.
At the same time, the company is aggressively expanding its cryptocurrency infrastructure: it closed the acquisition of Canada's WonderFi, launched the public mainnet Robinhood Chain, offered tokenized stocks in over 120 countries, launched the decentralized lending service Robinhood Earn, added perpetual futures in the EU, and plans to launch cryptocurrency products in the UK.
Recall that we previously reported that the tokenized stock sector on Robinhood Chain has grown nearly sevenfold since the network's launch.
