Когда в проект вложили миллионы долларов, трейдер исчез. Разработчики Fintopio не получили зарплаты, а инвесторы остались без денег. Многие не спешат обращаться в полицию, надеясь на возврат средств и опасаясь публичности. По данным Mash, след Новака оборвался в Кейптауне, где, по мнению источников, и осели похищенные деньги.

Новак не впервые попадает в подобные истории. Ранее суд назначил ему срок за хищение $4 млн. После освобождения он уехал в Дубай и вновь занялся криптопроектами. Там он запустил токен в Телеграм, из-за которого российские силовики в сентябре проводили проверки криптообменников в «Москва-Сити», пытаясь найти следы его инвестиций.

Менделеев усомнился в размере аферы, но отметил безрассудство инвесторов, доверивших деньги человеку с уголовным прошлым.
