ETHW 上市首秀吸金超 2 亿美元,「首发选手」Bitwise 的加密 ETF 之战有何策略?

Bitwise 没有贝莱德和富达等传统巨头的号召力,但从其加密 ETF 的资金规模仍较为可观,背后的 「战术」值得关注。

以太坊十周年生日迎来里程碑式进展,9 支现货 ETF 终于「通关」获批,8 家发行商在遭遇数年监管阻力后取得以太坊主流化的胜利。7 月 23 日上市首日,以太坊现货 ETF 交易量突破 10 亿美元,相比于今年 1 月比特币现货 ETF 第一天 46 亿美元交易额的 23%。

尽管市场需求上涨会带动加密 ETF 水涨船高,但同质产品的同场交锋必然激烈,这一点在比特币现货 ETF 的市场格局中已有所体现。在这些发行方中,加密原生机构 Bitwise 没有贝莱德和富达等传统巨头的号召力,但从其加密 ETF 的资金规模仍较为可观,背后的 「战术」值得关注。

Bitwise 是美国知名的加密指数基金管理公司之一,于 2017 年推出了首只加密指数基金,现提供 20 种产品,涵盖 ETF、公开交易信托、私募基金、对冲基金和 NFT 收藏品等。

ETHW 上市交易首秀吸金超 2 亿美元,BITB 获超 110 家持仓机构

加密市场的复苏和繁荣,是 ETF 发展的大前提。今年以来,比特币现货 ETF 获批、美国大选以及美联储降息等叙事正推动加密市场 V 型反转,这些 ETF 作为老钱通道也成为最先受益者之一,迎来了强劲增长势头。

昨日晚间,以太坊现货 ETF 迎来上市首秀,首日累计成交额超 10 亿美元,主要来自灰度 ETHE、贝莱德 ETHA 和富达 FETH。但 Farside Investors 数据统计,以太坊现货 ETF 上市当天呈资金流出状态,灰度 ETHE 带来超 4.8 亿美元的净流出量,但 Bitwise 的 ETHW 以超 2 亿美元的净流入成为「吸金」主力,远超富达 FETH 的 7130 万美元以及富兰克林 EZET 的 1320 万美元等。

与此同时,Bitwise 的比特币现货 ETF 业绩表现同样较为可观。SoSoValue 数据显示,截至 7 月 22 日,美国比特币现货 ETF 的总净资产规模在半年时间已上数百亿美元台阶,达到 621.4 亿美元。尽管当前比特币现货 ETF 市场的头部效应显著,但从资金动向来看,Bitwise 的比特币现货 ETF BITB 也是投资者青睐的投资标的。

SoSoValue 数据显示,截至 7 月 22 日,BITB 的累计净流入量达 22 亿美元,排名第五,超过排名靠后的 6 只比特币 ETF 资金流入之和,与这部分 ETF 拉开了相当距离。同时,BITB 的总资产净值达 27.2 亿美元,在 11 只美国比特币先后 ETF 中排名第五,市场占比为 4.5%。虽然整体市场份额仍无法与贝莱德、灰度等头部 ETF 相匹敌,但根据 Dune 数据显示,BITB 的每周资金基本以净流入为主,仅出现少数资金流出的情况。

且从价格表现来看,上线至今,BITB 价格已上涨近 45.7% 至 37.2 美元。而根据 Fintel 数据披露,截至 7 月 23 日,报告持有 BITB 的上市公司有 117 家,共持有约 1067 股 BITB,当前价值超 3.9 亿美元。

Fintel 统计数据显示,BITB 的持有机构不乏投资顾问公司 Pine Ridge Advisers、美国大型做市商简街资本、对冲基金管理公司 Boothbay Fund Management、海外对冲基金巨头 Millennium Management 和期权交易巨头 Susquehanna International Group 等。而 Bitwise 首席执行官 Hunter Horsley 近期还披露,美国有一家大型银行,其所有财富管理分支机构(几百家)的 20% 都拥有 Bitwise ETF。

对于一家没有深厚传统金融背景的加密原生的资管公司,Bitwise 打开了一个漂亮的开局。Bitwise Asset Management 团队由 60 多名专业人士组成,拥有 BlackRock、Millennium、Blackstone、ETF.com、Meta、Google 和美国检察官办公室等背景。其中,Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley 曾担任 Facebook 和 Instagram 的产品经理,毕业于宾夕法尼亚大学沃顿商学院。Bitwise 曾获得多轮融资,投资者包括 Elad Gi、Electric Capital、Bridgewater CEO David McCormick、Blackstone 高管 Nadeem Meghji、Vetamer Capital、ParaFi Capital 和 Coinbase Ventures 等。

三大 ETF 竞争之道,Bitwise 高调看多加密资产

拼首发、卷速度、降费率、费用豁免……各发行商都在为「抢位」暗自较劲。

为了在众多竞争对手手中获得更大的规模和流动性,Bitwise 围绕着发行时间、交易费用和生态支持等方面做文章。

早起的鸟儿有虫吃,这是 ETF 业务通常呈现出鲜明的先发效应。作为首批获批的比特币现货 ETF,Bitwise 早在 2021 年 10 月就已提交了相关申请,并在 SEC 多次拒绝后最终于今年 1 月审批通过;在以太坊现货 ETF 的申请上,虽然 Bitwise 的申请时间晚于其他竞争对手,但仍是「首发选手」,且 Bitwise 也是首个披露以太坊现货 ETF 种子基金为 250 万美元的发行商。

同时,为了不在角逐激烈的赛道掉队,费率也成为各家发行商打造差异化竞争优势的突破口,这也是最有效的竞争方式。从费用来看,BITB 是所有比特币现货 ETF 中最低的,管理费率仅为 0.2%,且首批 10 亿美元资产的前六个月管理费为 0;ETHW 的费率则为 0.2%,仅次于 Franklin Templeton 「EZET」和灰度以太坊迷你 ETF 「ETH」,且前 5 亿美元或前 6 个月费用减免。显然,低费用是 Bitwise 赢得资金流入的重要抓手。

除了以上这些常规的扩张策略,Bitwise 还通过对比特币和以太坊生态发展的资金扶持,赢得加密社区的好感和认可。

在 BITB 推出时,Bitwise 宣布将把 BITB 利润的 10% 捐赠给三个资助比特币开源开发的非营利组织 BrinkOpenSats 和人权基金会的比特币发展基金,这些组织在提高比特币网络的安全性、可扩展性和可用性方面发挥着关键作用。且这些捐赠将至少在未来 10 年内每年进行一次,以进一步支持比特币生态系统的健康和发展;同样的,ETHW 也将基金利润的 10% 将捐赠给以太坊开源开发者 Protocol Guild 和 PBS Foundation,捐赠计划也将持续至少 10 年,每年进行,受捐组织会根据年度审查可能变化。且为了保证透明度,BITB 的比特币地址和 ETHW 的以太坊地址均已公开。

值得一提的是,Bitwise 对加密资产的前景高调「看多」。Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan 近期表示,比特币现货 ETF 流入、比特币减半、以太坊现货 ETF 政治态度的转变以及美联储降息的前景都为加密货币创造了更好的长期环境。加上稳定币市场的强劲增长、Layer 2 开发以及贝莱德等机构越来越多地参与该领域,下半年正确的发展组合可能会轻松推动比特币达到 10 万美元。另外,虽然预计以太坊 ETF 上线后的前几周 ETH 的价格将会「波动不定」,因为在价值 110 亿美元的灰度以太坊信托 (ETHE) 转换为现货 ETF 后资金可能会流出该信托,但到年底 ETH 的价格将突破 5000 美元并创下历史新高。如果流量比许多市场评论员预期的要强,价格可能还会更高。
