A separate Consensus Chain then leverages an enhanced PBFT algorithm to sequence and finalize all Data Chain headers. Compiling EVM Bytecode to Native Code
High-frequency contracts are translated using AOT compilation into x86 native code that approaches the speed of optimized C++, allowing for millions of TPS on one core. Low-frequency contracts are still executed using the standard interpreter, balancing speed and EVM compatibility. Furthermore, by incorporating modern CPU hardware features like out-of-order execution and superscalar processing, the internal execution speed of single transactions is dramatically accelerated.
Self-Developed IceDB Database
IceDB delivers read/write latency of 15–100 nanoseconds with fully deterministic performance, returning a performance report after each operation to enable precise billing. It features highly efficient read/write caching and built-in snapshot capabilities. This design eliminates the thousandfold latency fluctuations commonly seen in traditional embedded databases such as LevelDB and RocksDB.
Advanced Compression and Signature Aggregation Technology
High-Ratio Compression: Leverages the power-law distribution of transaction addresses and contract calls to achieve extremely high compression rates.
Streaming Compression: Supports continuous data publication by the same validator, enabling compression rates that significantly exceed standard block-level compression.
BLS Signature Aggregation: Aggregates thousands of transaction signatures into a single signature, drastically reducing bandwidth requirements. This approach can theoretically overcome the traditional "bandwidth wall," enabling near-Gigabit-level transaction data throughput.

The native ecosystem token for Somnia is SOMI, which has a fixed total supply of 1 billion tokens with no future inflation. The token distribution is allocated as follows: 27.925% to the community, 27.345% to the ecosystem, 15.15% to investors, 15% to partners, 11% to the team, and 3.58% to advisors.
SOMI serves multiple utility functions within the network: (1) Gas fee payments, with 50% of gas revenue allocated to validators and the remaining 50% burned; (2) Validator staking, where operators must stake 5 million SOMI to run a node; (3) Delegated staking, allowing SOMI to be assigned to specific validators or a general pool, subject to a 28-day lock-up period, while emergency unstaking incurs a 50% penalty; and (4) Future network governance, where SOMI will play a key role in decision-making.
