On August 12th, it was reported that the developer behind the Meme token FrensTech (FRENS) was accused of conducting a Rug Pull and removing liquidity from the project. According to on-chain expert @UniswapVillain, AzFlin, an early employee of Uniswap, was the developer of FRENS. Shortly after deploying the FRENS token, AzFlin used the multi-chain bridge HOP to transfer 14 WETH (approximately $25,800) out of the Base network and even sold tokens withdrawn from liquidity. AzFlin admits to being the developer and deployer of the FRENS token but denies the Rug Pull accusation. AzFlin claims that liquidity for the project was locked from the beginning. He only removed liquidity worth 1 ETH, which was provided by his own developer wallet funds. AzFlin admits that he sold tokens when the FRENS market value reached $30,000. However, he defends his actions by claiming that the tokens he sold were initially purchased by himself and were intended to introduce liquidity to the project. According to him, the so-called Rug Pull is just FUD.
