Stacks [STX] crashes to $0.13 even as PoX-5 testnet goes live – Why?



On the 25th of July, Stacks [$STX] experienced strong bearish pressure. After a long period of consolidation, bears finally took over the market, with $STX losing the $0.16 support level.

As a result, the altcoin crashed to $0.13. $STX has not dropped to such levels since mid-2020, marking a 6-year low. As of this writing, Stacks was trading around $0.138, after dropping by 6.2% on the daily charts.

Hyperliquid: Can $1.2M in token burns help HYPE flip $60?
Hyperliquid generated $1.4 million in fees and burned 20.64K HYPE worth $1.2 million.Hyperliquid [HYPE] has historically deployed deflationary mechanisms to control supply and absorb market pressure. The project has mostly used the protocol’s revenue for token buybacks and burns to achieve these goals. Hyperliquid burns $1.2 million worth of HYPE
With HYPE prolonging its stay below $60, the project once again used its revenue to reduce inflation. Since August 2025, the Hyperliquid network has generated $800 million in net income, with HyperCore accounting for 95% of the income.

Interestingly, most of the funds generated have been spent on token buybacks. Out of the $1.03 billion generated, $1.01 billion has been used for buybacks and burnsOver the past day, for example, Hyperliquid generated $1.4 million in fees and burned 20.64K HYPE worth $1.2 million. However, despite the buyback and burns, the capital spent here has plummeted significantly, falling 61%.

With the recent burn, Hyperliquid has burned 4.73% of the token’s supply according to Onchain Lens. This also marks over 15% of the currently circulating supply.The sustained capital deployment toward deflationary measures has gone a long way toward stabilizing the HYPE token. As a result, HYPE has remained strong even during a prolonged period of broader market weakness.Sustained capital deployment to ease pressure has significantly played a major role in boosting investor confidence. As a result, buyers have continued to pile in even during pullbacks.

On the Spot side, for example, the Netflow has remained positive for two consecutive weeks. As of this writing, Netflow was -$598k, a significant drop from -$3.2 million the previous day, reflecting strong buying pressure.

In a July 24 letter addressed to Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott and Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren, the FOP said its previous concerns had been addressedThe group stated that the updated language preserves law enforcement's ability to investigate crimes involving digital assets. However, the BRCA text itself remained unchanged in the bill version released on Wednesday, leaving uncertainty about the specific revisions referenced during the negotiations.According to journalist Eleanor Terrett, the National Fraternal Order of Police said it reviewed clarifying language included in revised Section 10604, which amends the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act. According to the letter, the organization concluded that the provision does not restrict investigators or prosecutors from pursuing unlawful conduct involving digital assets. The FOP said the clarification directly addressed concerns raised during earlier discussions over the legislation.

The upgrade, formally "PoX-5: Bitcoin Staking and Emission Schedule Alignment," lets participants lock $BTC in a timelocked contract on Bitcoin's base layer — under their own keys — and pair it with locked $STX to earn yield paid in bitcoin. A companion proposal, SIP-044, which brings Clarity 6 and new staking post-conditions, passed alongside it. Voting opened July 6; hard-fork votes require at least 80% approval from stacked $STX.

"Bitcoin is the world's most trusted asset precisely because of its design and safety principles on the L1," Ali said when the Bitcoin Staking whitepaper was published in May. "Holders can now earn yield denominated in $BTC, trustlessly, while their Bitcoin stays exactly where it belongs."

BlackRock goes bullish on Ethereum, buys more ETH than Bitcoinattracted more capital into Ethereum (ETH) than Bitcoin (BTC) through its U.S. spot cryptocurrency ETFs during the five trading days ending July 24.

Data shows BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) and ETHB recorded a combined net inflow of $99.2 million between July 20 and July 24.

Over the same period, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) posted a net outflow of $95.5 million, a rare instance in which the asset manager’s Ethereum products outperformed its flagship Bitcoin fund in terms of net flows.

The divergence comes as Ethereum ETF demand has strengthened in July while Bitcoin ETF flows have become more volatile amid profit-taking and shifting investor sentiment.

Ethereum inflows were driven primarily by ETHA, which attracted $34.3 million on July 20, $52.8 million on July 21, and $53.5 million on July 22.

Despite a $52.8 million outflow on July 24, the fund ended the week in positive territory. Combined with ETHB’s $2.9 million inflow on July 23, BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF lineup finished the five-day period with a net inflow of $99.2 million.By contrast, IBIT recorded inflows of $116.5 million, $163.9 million, and $38.8 million between July 20 and July 22 before sentiment reversed. The fund then posted outflows of $202.5 million on July 23 and $212.2 million on July 24, resulting in a net five-day outflow of $95.5 million.

The broader U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market followed a similar pattern. The sector recorded inflows of $226.8 million on July 20, $203.2 million on July 21, and $69.1 million on July 22 before posting outflows of $225.1 million and $240.1 million on July 23 and July 24, respectively
