A Bitcoin transaction that costs $75 to $150 in GPU compute is not built for daily use, but it may still matter.

StarkWare chief product officer Avihu Levy has put forward a scheme called Quantum Safe Bitcoin, or QSB, that he says could make new BTC transfers resistant to quantum attacks without changing the Bitcoin protocol.

The proposal is designed to work even against a large quantum computer running Shor’s algorithm.

A Workaround Inside Bitcoin’s Existing Rules
Levy’s plan stays within the crypto’s current legacy script limits and does not require a soft fork. Instead of relying on elliptic curve math, QSB swaps in a hash-to-signature puzzle.

In simple terms, the sender must find an input whose hash output happens to look like a valid ECDSA signature, a process that depends on brute-force work rather than the kind of math quantum computers are expected to break.

That makes the scheme unusual. It does not try to rebuild Bitcoin from the ground up. It tries to bolt on a narrow shield using rules that already exist.

The researchers describe it as a temporary answer while the bigger question of its long-term quantum defense remains unsettled.

Praise, Pushback And A Narrow Use Case
StarkWare CEO Eli Ben-Sasson called the work “huge” and said it essentially makes Bitcoin quantum-safe today. But not everyone agrees with that framing.

Bitcoin ESG specialist Daniel Batten said the claim goes too far because the paper does not address exposed public keys or dormant wallets.

South Korean lawmakers and central bank officials are locking horns over that question, with one side saying yes while the other argues that stablecoin issuance should be the sole prerogative of the banking sector.

And Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire suddenly waded into this fray this week. The top dog at the US’ biggest stablecoin issuer told the press in Seoul Circle has no plans to launch a won-pegged digital asset, but that the firm is “closely watching” developments in the National Assembly.

“If a legal pathway is established for global companies like Circle to legally enter and operate, just as we have done in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Europe, we are very willing to obtain a license and establish a South Korean branch,” Allaire said, according to South Korean newspaper Maeil Kyungjae.
Allaire has been busy meeting South Korean banking chiefs and some of the country’s top crypto firms, pitching Circle’s ability to provide technical support to South Korean firms that want to issue stablecoins — once they receive the green light.

Allaire’s comments come as South Korean politicians are looked in a similar struggle that US lawmakers have found themselves in in terms of the Clarity Act, the landmark crypto markets bill that has been gridlocked on Capitol Hill for months.

Researchers from the University of California set up a trap — a crypto wallet loaded with a small amount of Ether and connected to third-party AI routing infrastructure. One of the routers took the bait. The wallet was drained. The loss was under $50, but the implications reached far beyond the dollar amount.

That experiment was part of a broader study published recently, in which researchers tested 428 large language model routers — 28 paid and 400 free — collected from public online communities.

What they found was alarming. Nine routers were actively inserting malicious code into traffic passing through them. Two were using evasion techniques to avoid detection. Seventeen accessed AWS credentials belonging to the researchers. One stole actual cryptocurrency.

How Routers Became A Security Blind Spot
LLM routers sit between a developer’s application and AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. They work as intermediaries, bundling API access into a single pipeline.

The problem is structural. These routers terminate encrypted internet connections — known as TLS — and read every message in plain text before passing it along. That means anything sent through them, including private keys, seed phrases, and login credentials, is fully visible to whoever operates the router.

With macroeconomic factors and geopolitical tensions guiding the market’s direction over the past few weeks, major inflows and outflows have been observed across Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, as well as Solana and XRP ETFs. A direct comparison between Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs reveals a modest correlation in capital flows, suggesting similar investor behavior between the two assets. In contrast, XRP and Solana ETFs have experienced relatively subdued activity, likely impacted by persistent market volatility and a prevailing risk-off sentiment among investors.

Bitcoin And Ethereum ETF Performance This Past Week
Data from SoSoValue shows that Spot Bitcoin ETFs have seen stronger inflows than outflows since the start of last week. On April 6, Bitcoin ETFs posted their largest single-day inflow since the beginning of March, with more than $471.3 million flowing into these investment products. BlackRock’s IBIT had led this massive inflow with approximately $181.9 million. This was followed by Fidelity’s FBTC, which recorded inflows of about $147.3 million.

Following this, Bitcoin ETFs saw sharp outflows for two consecutive days, with $159.05 million withdrawn on April 7 and another $125.55 million leaving the fund on April 8. The decline in flows coincided with the US-Iran ceasefire announcement, which ironically should have bolstered market sentiment and yielded more positive results. However, the outflows continued, with Fidelity’s FBTC recording the highest outflows, followed by Grayscale’s GBTC and BlackRock’s IBIT.
