Stripe is integrating stablecoins and blockchain across its core payments stack in a bid to become an "AWS for money" and speed up global money movement, said Adrien Duchâteau, the firm's head of crypto GTM.

The company, which processes nearly $2 trillion in payments annually, is using acquisitions like Bridge and Privy and a new blockchain called Tempo to cut settlement times from days to near-instant.

Stripe aims to make it seamless for users to move between traditional banking rails and crypto, with particular focus on emerging markets where stablecoins and DeFi can offer services that conventional banks struggle to provide, Duchâteau said.

Global payments giant Stripe is building what it calls the "AWS for money," and crypto tech is at the center of that plan.

Speaking at the RWA Summit in Cannes, France, Adrien Duchâteau, Stripe's head of crypto go-to-market, said the company is now integrating stablecoins and blockchain across its core payment stack as it looks to modernize how money moves globally

Ark Invest Adds Kalshi Signals to Research Process

Alternative data is becoming a bigger force in investment research as firms search for earlier signals on market-moving events. New tools can help analysts assess probabilities before traditional indicators fully reflect them. Investment manager Ark Invest on April 17 outlined how its collaboration with Kalshi fits into a broader effort to incorporate prediction market data into research workflows.

Ark Invest disclosed on social media platform X in a series of posts:

“We are using them to listen. Here is what that means and why we think it could matter for the future of investing.”

The posts framed prediction markets as a way to capture expectations around economic releases, policy outcomes, and company developments before those events are settled. The company argued that these markets can offer a live reading of how participants assign odds to future scenarios. It also described that feed as useful for investors tracking innovation themes, where timing and event risk often shape equity performance.

“ Prediction markets offer an insight into the probability of certain future outcomes. Think macro data releases, regulatory decisions, company milestones,” Ark Invest added. “We see that as a powerful source of forward-looking insight.”

Despite the ongoing downturn, some market analysts remain optimistic that XRP may avoid a deeper collapse below the $1 mark.
Technical Structure Still Holding Key Levels
Crypto analyst “Crypto Luke” noted on X that XRP continues to defend a broadening wedge pattern, a structure that often signals sustained demand even during volatile price action.
According to the analysis, this suggests buyers are still stepping in at key support zones, preventing a complete breakdown of the trend.
Momentum Indicators Turning Cautiously Positive
The analyst also highlighted improving technical signals:
Stochastic indicators are beginning to turn upward
RSI (Relative Strength Index) remains relatively stable
These signals suggest that downside momentum may be slowing, rather than accelerating.
Liquidity Returning to the Market
Another key factor is liquidity flow. The analyst pointed out that capital is gradually flowing back into major crypto assets, supported by broader market recovery in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Since liquidity is often considered the “fuel” of price trends, renewed inflows could help stabilize XRP’s current structure.
Institutional Activity Adds Support
XRP has also seen increased institutional attention, with XRP-related ETFs reportedly recording more inflows than outflows in recent sessions. This shift suggests accumulation rather than distribution among larger market participants.
“Not a Collapse Scenario”
Crypto Luke emphasized that while XRP is not expected to surge immediately, the chart structure does not resemble a breakdown scenario.
“I’d rather be accumulating here than chasing later,” the analyst noted, suggesting a long-term positioning approach rather than short-term panic selling.

Iran's Friday announcement that the Strait of Hormuz would be opened during the current ceasefire triggered one of the sharpest oil reversals of the year.

Brent crude fell 12.95% to $86.52, and WTI dropped 14.26% to $81.19, both their lowest levels since Mar. 11 and the largest single-day declines since Apr. 8. US stocks surged, bond yields dropped, the dollar weakened, and Bitcoin registered an intraday high of $78,336.

Traders stripped the war premium they had spent weeks layering into crude prices, and risk assets repriced accordingly.

Yesterday, the Strait was opened on Iranian terms. Commercial vessels required authorization from Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization and the IRGC and had to transit through Iran-designated safe lanes, but the US blockade on Iranian shipping remains fully in place until a broader diplomatic settlement.

That window has already narrowed. As of Apr. 18, Iran said it had closed the Strait again after the US left its blockade in place, pushing the market back into a countdown toward the Apr. 22 ceasefire deadline.

Only eight oil and gas tankers moved during the reopening, underscoring how far the route remains from anything resembling normal traffic.

Clarity Act News: Patrick Witt Reveals White House Stepped In to Save Crypto Bill


Crypto Analyst Tony Edward spoke with Patrick Witt, Executive Director, President’s Council of Advisors for Digital Assets at the Solana Policy Institute summit, where Witt gave a grounded update on the Clarity Act and what’s actually coming next behind the scenes.

Witt made it clear that the stablecoin issue almost blocked the bill completely. That’s when the White House stepped in to mediate between banks and crypto companies, trying to find language both sides could live with.

“We had to step in there and serve as a mediator… bringing the banks and crypto companies together… and ultimately get it to a place where we felt like it was ready to hand back over to the Senate… not to say either side is thrilled about it.”

He explained that this wasn’t about making everyone happy; it was about getting enough agreement to move forward. Banks wanted stricter rules if crypto firms act like banks, while crypto players didn’t want extra layers added at all. The final version sits somewhere in between.

The Clarity Act Timeline Is Tight

Witt didn’t sugarcoat the timeline either.

“Just working backwards from the August recess… you realize you have to take action now to get this out of the banking committee.”

From here, the bill still has to clear the Senate, go through reconciliation, and pass the House before reaching Donald Trump. There’s still a process, and it’s not a short one.
