At press time, $HYPE fell 4.2% to $40 despite the ETF debut.

This was not surprising, given Bitcoin’s [BTC] brief pullback on the 12th of May after the CPI data came in hotter than expected.The inflation shock dented risk‑on sentiment and dragged the broader crypto market, including $HYPE, lower.

Still, the altcoin was above its 200-day Simple Moving Average (SMA), a key bullish support level. Provided the price action stays above this crucial level with strong whale demand, $HYPE could still attempt to push forward and eye 



In other words, if the immediate support zone at $40 (white zone) breaks, bulls may attempt to backstop the pullback at $34 (which aligns with the 200-day SMA).

Should the two support levels fail, then the $HYPE market structure will effectively flip to bearish, giving short sellers more fuel to drag the altcoin lower.

Bermuda and Stellar Partner on Digital PaymentsThe Government of Bermuda and the Stellar Development Foundation announced plans to move part of the island’s financial infrastructure onto the Stellar network. The initiative became the first operational step after Bermuda said at the 2026 World Economic Forum that it wants to become the world’s first fully on-chain economy.

The project builds on Bermuda’s Digital Asset Business Act introduced back in 2018. The law created one of the earliest regulatory frameworks for digital assets and blockchain companies. Now the government plans to expand that infrastructure into daily payments and financial services.

Residents of Bermuda are expected to use digital wallets connected to the Stellar network for everyday activity. This includes receiving salaries, paying merchants, settling government fees, and transferring digital assets where supported. The network also provides fiat on- and off-ramp infrastructure, allowing users to move between traditional money and digital assets.

Government agencies plan to test stablecoin payment systems, while financial institutions may integrate tokenization tools into their services. Bermuda also intends to launch digital literacy programs to help residents understand and use blockchain-based financial products.

Stellar focuses on regulated financial services and cross-border payments. The network supports low-cost transactions that settle within seconds. Stellar has previously worked with institutional and sovereign initiatives, including the Marshall Islands’ ENRA program, which distributed nationwide universal basic income payments onchain in 2025.

Hyperliquid ETF Debuts on Nasdaq With $1.2M Inflows

The 21Shares Hyperliquid ETF debuted on Nasdaq with $1.2M in inflows and $1.8M in first-day trading volume.

The 21Shares Hyperliquid ETF (THYP) launched on #Nasdaq on May 12, drawing $1.2 million in net inflows and $1.8 million in trading volume on its first day. Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart described the debut as "very very solid" and better than the average ETF launch, though he noted it was not unusually large.

THYP seeks to track the spot price of the Hyperliquid (HYPE) token, which is tied to the perpetual futures platform of the same name. The platform has facilitated over $8.4 trillion in trading volume since launching in 2023, according to data from Dune Analytics.

The debut volume was a fraction of earlier altcoin ETF launches. The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) attracted $56 million on its opening day in late October, while the Canary XRP ETF (XRPC) brought in $58 million when it launched in November.

THYP carries a 0.3% management fee, below the 0.67% fee proposed by Bitwise for its own Hyperliquid ETF, BHYP, which Seyffart said is next in line for SEC approval. Grayscale is also awaiting a decision on its Grayscale HYPE ETF (GHYP) and has not yet set a fee for the product.

The launch adds to a growing number of altcoins packaged into funds available on Wall Street. In September, the #SEC moved away from case-by-case reviews of spot crypto ETFs in favor of generic listing standards, making the approval process more accessible.

Seyffart had cautioned in December that many crypto exchange-traded products could be liquidated by the end of 2027 due to insufficient demand. A Bloomberg report from April found that the average lifespan of ETFs fell from 4.66 years in 2024 to approximately 3.5 years in 2025. Dozens of ETFs have been liquidated in the first months of 2026, though none were notable crypto ETFs.
