BTC Prophet: 20-Day 380 Million HTX Challenge

Crypto fell across the board on Thursday, shrugging off a signed Iran peace deal that lifted stocks, after the Federal Reserve held interest rates but made clear it is more worried about inflation than growth.

Bitcoin traded around $63,900, down 3% over 24 hours though still up 2% on the week, per CoinDesk data. The selling was broad. Ether fell 3.4% to $1,733, XRP dropped 3.9% to $1.17 and solana lost 3.6% to $71. Hyperliquid's HYPE, the standout gainer all week, fell hardest at 7.2% to $69, though it remains up about 28% over seven days. Tron was the lone major in the green, up 0.9%.

Hashgraph and Truesense File CITI Patent
The Hashgraph Group, a Web3 and AI engineering company, and Truesense, a developer of ultra-wideband sensing technology, announced the filing of a European patent application for Continuous Identity Trust Infrastructure (CITI). The new system is designed to connect proof of a person’s physical presence with a decentralized digital identity while protecting personal data.

The patent application was submitted to the European Patent Office on April 4, 2026, and covers more than 44 European countries. The companies are also preparing a patent filing in the United States.

CITI combines three technologies: ultra-wideband (UWB) sensing, decentralized identifiers (DIDs), and zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) cryptography. Together, these technologies make it possible to verify that a person was physically present at a specific place and time without revealing personal information or location details.

Bitcoin is heading into one of the most closely watched macro events of the month with the Federal Reserve set to announce its latest interest rate decision today. While markets are overwhelmingly pricing in a rate pause, seasoned traders know the real market-moving catalyst often comes after the announcement. 

The spotlight is now on the Fed’s updated economic projections, and comments from Chair Kelvin Warsh, which could reshape expectations for interest rates and liquidity through the remainder of the year. With BTC recovering from its recent correction, and whales quietly accumulating, the market is approaching a pivotal moment that could determine whether BTC price reclaims $67K or slips toward $62K.

Markets Expect a Pause, But Guidance Is Everything
Prediction markets currently assign near-certain odds to the Federal Reserve keeping rates unchanged. As a result, traders have largely priced in the decision itself. Instead, investors are focused on whether policymakers maintain expectations for future rate cuts or adopt a more cautious stance amid lingering inflation concerns. A dovish message could strengthen the narrative that financial conditions may gradually loosen later this year. 

On the other hand, any indication that inflation remains a concern or that rate cuts could be delayed may dampen market sentiment and trigger renewed risk-off positioning across crypto markets. The challenge for traders is that even when the decision is widely expected, volatility around the Fed announcement often increases significantly as markets rapidly adjust to new information.

Stablecoin issuer Tether is winding down Alloy by Tether and its gold-backed, overcollateralized aUSDT stablecoin after just two years to focus on products and areas with stronger demand.

Tether announced its “strategic changes” on Wednesday following a review of user activity, market demand, and the company’s “broader priorities.”

Tether said it has decided to focus resources on areas where it is seeing “stronger user demand, deeper liquidity and broader long-term market opportunity,” including its gold-backed digital asset XAUT and other core products across its ecosystem.

While stablecoins remain Tether’s core business, the company has shown a growing interest in technology outside stablecoins. Its investments include Bitcoin mining infrastructure, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and robotics. Most recently, it led German tech company NEURA’s $1 billion funding round on June 11.

Tether’s aUSDT is an overcollateralized derivative product built on top of XAUT using Ethereum smart contracts, which also reflects the demand for gold-backed and tokenized real-world assets.

Alloy by Tether allowed users to deposit XAUT as collateral to mint aUSDT, with the value of XAUT locked exceeding the value of aUSDT issued, similar to how some stablecoins or synthetic dollars are created against crypto collateral in DeFi.

Users could borrow or mint against their XAUT holdings, letting them access dollar-like liquidity without selling their gold exposure.

Alloy by Tether, announced in June 2024, has a current market capitalization of $1.2 million and is backed by 14.73 kilograms of gold worth around $2.2 million, according to Tether.
