Solana gains as investors rotate beyond BitcoinSolana (CRYPTO:SOL) continued to outperform Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), with the SOL/BTC ratio extending a recent breakout and recording its strongest weekly close since May.
The move comes as capital rotates into higher-risk crypto assets following Bitcoin's recovery above US$65,000.
Growing activity in tokenised assets and real-world asset projects is supporting Solana's network growth ahead of the third quarter.
Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) strengthened its position relative to Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) as the SOL/BTC ratio extended a recent breakout, suggesting investors are increasingly allocating capital to higher-risk crypto assets ahead of the third quarter.

The move followed Bitcoin's recovery above US$65,000 and Solana's 3.4% daily close above US$71 on June 14, while the SOL/BTC ratio recorded its strongest weekly finish since early May.Unlike previous market cycles, Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) has continued to weaken against Bitcoin, with the ETH/BTC ratio on track for a tenth consecutive weekly decline while Solana gains relative strength.

The divergence suggests Solana may be attracting a larger share of capital flowing into altcoins, although whether the trend continues will depend on broader market conditions, and following the latest session Solana was unchanged at US$0.00.

Network activity has also accelerated, with Solana's real-world asset ecosystem surpassing US$3 billion in total value and tokenised SpaceX xStock generating more than US$36.5 million in trading volume since launch.

Additional momentum came from a cooperation agreement between Kazakhstan's Alatau City and the Solana Foundation, while Backpack Securities reported that SPCX exceeded US$50 million in on-chain trading volume within

India is likely to move toward a more balanced cryptocurrency regulatory framework in the coming years, according to GetBit Founder Abhay Agarwal, who believes the current tax structure was introduced during a period when policymakers were still trying to understand a rapidly evolving industry.

Speaking in an interview with Coinpedia, Abhay said the existing 30% tax on crypto gains remains high compared to most other asset classes, but emphasized that the larger challenge is the 1% Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) imposed on every crypto transaction.

“The 30% tax on gains is high compared to most other asset classes, but the bigger issue is the 1% TDS. It effectively acts as a liquidity tax and disproportionately impacts active market participants.”

According to Abhay, the current framework served its purpose by helping regulators monitor the sector. However, as regulatory visibility improves and the industry matures, he expects policymakers to revisit the tax structure. He believes a reduction in TDS is likely to be the first major change, potentially within the next two to four years.

Liquidity Migration Remains the Biggest Consequence

Discussing the impact of the 1% TDS, Abhay identified the migration of liquidity away from India as the most significant consequence.

He explained that financial markets function most efficiently when buyers and sellers can transact without excessive friction. The 1% TDS significantly increases trading costs, particularly for market makers and active participants, prompting a large share of trading activity to move offshore shortly after the rule was introduced.

On the daily timeframe, $XRP continues to trade within a broader descending channel while remaining below both the 100-day and 200-day moving averages. Despite the larger bearish structure, the recent recovery from the $1.05 to $1.15 demand zone has been encouraging.

The most recent development is the rejection from the 100-day moving average near $1.25. After reclaiming the lower support zone, $XRP quickly advanced into this dynamic resistance and has since entered a period of consolidation. The $1.05 to $1.15 region remains the most important support area for the bulls, while the next major resistance sits around the descending channel resistance near $1.3K.

A successful break above this area would represent the first meaningful challenge to the broader downtrend and could pave the way for a move toward higher resistance levels. For now, $XRP is attempting to establish a higher low after its recent impulse higher, which is constructive as long as price remains above the recent support region.
