What Was Announced

The announcement covered every major segment of finance. Coinbase framed the release around three pillars: more assets to trade, smarter trading tools, and a broader financial services suite.

The product list includes tokenized U.S. stocks for non-U.S. customers launching next month, backed 1:1 by the underlying asset with full shareholder rights, dividend payouts, and the ability to lend shares for yield or use them as collateral. U.S. customers are excluded per regulatory disclosures.

On the lending side, Coinbase is now accepting bitcoin as collateral for home mortgages in partnership with Better, with Fannie Mae backing the structure. Customers can pledge BTC without selling it to qualify for a home purchase.

Pre-IPO Access and Derivatives

Traders can now access Pre-IPO perpetual futures starting with SpaceX, with Anthropic and OpenAI listed as coming soon. These instruments give market participants early price exposure to private companies before any public listing.

Coinbase also introduced equity index perpetual futures tracking thematic indices including AI, China, Defense, and the Tech 100, listed on a U.S. regulated exchange. Options trading for both crypto and stocks is slated to roll out in the coming months.

AI Tools and Agentic Trading

The company launched Coinbase Advisor, described as one of the first SEC-registered, AI-powered in-app investment advisors. It is registered as both a Commodity Trading Advisor with the NFA and a Registered Investment Advisor with the SEC. The tool is rolling out first to Coinbase One members in the U.S. and is designed to handle tax-loss harvesting, trade recommendations, and multi-asset analysis.

The market for tokenized real-world assets has continued expanding rapidly, with Citigroup projecting the sector could reach as much as $8.2 trillion by 2030 under its bullish scenario.

According to Citigroup, tokenization is moving beyond experimental programs and into mainstream financial infrastructure as regulatory clarity improves and major market institutions integrate blockchain technology into their operations.

The bank estimates the market could reach $5.5 trillion in its base-case outlook, while stronger adoption could push the figure above $8 trillion before the end of the decade.

Recent on-chain data suggests growth is already accelerating. According to Token Terminal, tokenized assets now account for more than $43 billion in market value, representing an increase of roughly 37% over the past 180 days.

The platform’s estimate exceeds figures reported by RWA.xyz, which currently values the market at under $33 billion, a difference likely tied to how each provider classifies tokenized financial products.

HYPE, UNI and WLD posted double-digit gains while bitcoin and most of the crypto market drifted lower. HYPE rose as much as 13% to a fresh record above $76 before paring some gains. WLD gained 12%, extending its monthly advance to roughly 180%.
