Coinbase intoduces AI advisor, stock options, and pre-IPO markets in finance pushCoinbase is rolling out a broad suite of products spanning stocks, crypto derivatives, artificial intelligence tools and consumer finance as it pursues its ambition to become an “everything exchange.”
The company is expanding into traditional markets with stock and ETF trading, options for both equities and cryptocurrencies, thematic and pre-IPO perpetual futures, and tokenized stocks backed one-for-one by U.S. equities.
Coinbase is also betting on AI and new financial services with its SEC-registered Coinbase Advisor tool, automated AI trading agents, and consumer offerings such as bitcoin travel rewards, a USDC-backed credit card and borrowing against staked Solana.
Coinbase (COIN) has unveiled a suite of products spanning stocks, derivatives, artificial intelligence and consumer finance as it continues its path toward becoming what the company calls an "everything exchange."

The announcements, made Tuesday as part of Coinbase's latest "System Update," shows how the largest U.S. crypto exchange is increasingly competing not only with digital asset platforms but also with brokerages, banks and fintech firms. Earlier today, the company said it is launching tokenized stocks backed one-for-one by underlying U.S. equities.

Among the most significant additions are plans to offer options trading for both cryptocurrencies and stocks, giving users access to strategies traditionally associated with more sophisticated investors.

Coinbase is also expanding its push into equities. Customers can now transfer stock portfolios from other brokerages and trade U.S. stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and indexes through Coinbase Advanced, alongside cryptocurrencies.

Understanding the On-Chain Transfer
Large-scale transfers between ETF issuers and custodial or prime brokerage platforms like Coinbase Prime are routine in the digital asset management space. These moves are often triggered by investor redemptions: when GBTC shares are redeemed, the corresponding Bitcoin must be liquidated or transferred to cover the settlement. Grayscale has historically used Coinbase Prime as a key execution and custody partner.

The deposit of 1,863 BTC does not necessarily indicate a mass sell-off, but it does signal that Grayscale is actively managing its Bitcoin inventory in response to net fund flows. Acquisition Follows a Period of Turmoil

The acquisition comes after a challenging year for Mantra. The project’s native token, OM, experienced a dramatic collapse in 2023, losing over 90% of its value. The crash triggered significant organizational restructuring, including staff reductions, as the company worked to stabilize its operations.

Inveniam Capital Partners, an existing investor, had previously injected $20 million into Mantra before the restructuring took place. The firm’s decision to acquire the blockchain platform signals a continued commitment to the project’s underlying technology and its focus on bringing real-world assets onto the blockchain.

What This Means for Mantra and the RWA Sector

The acquisition is a notable development in the real-world asset tokenization space, a sector that has attracted increasing interest from traditional finance and institutional investors.
