According to Bank of Israel figures released last week, at the beginning of 2026 (February) the Israeli public's portfolio of financial assets was worth a record NIS 7.4 trillion. This represents growth of NIS 1.1 trillion within a year, and an 80% rise within six years. At the beginning of 2020, the public's portfolio was worth NIS 4.1 trillion.The continual growth in the financial assets portfolio, which includes money held in bank accounts, savings programs (provident funds, pension funds, and mutual funds), and securities, provides a glimpse into the way in which Israelis have managed their money in recent years, the level of risk that they tend to take, and their impact on prices in the local stock market.A glance at the make-up of the public's financial assets shows that Israeli investors' appetite for risk has grown considerably. At the end of 2022, the proportion of risk assets (stocks and bonds) in the portfolio was 39%. By the beginning of 2026 it had jumped to 48%. When the risk markets rise, then the public naturally wants to participate in these rises, and the growth in the appetite for risk is therefore on the whole understandable," says Ronen Menachem, chief markets economist at Mizrahi Tefahot Bank. "There's no doubt that the prolonged rises we have seen on the stock markets, in Israel and overseas, has had an impact on the behavior of the individual investor, and ultimately on the public at large."Amir Kahanovich, chief economist and deputy CEO at Profit Financial Services, agrees. Bitcoin price breaches $82K resistance, bullish crossover hints move to $85K next

Bitcoin price climbed above the key $82,000 resistance level on Wednesday as easing Middle East tensions, falling oil prices, and continued spot ETF inflows boosted risk appetite across the crypto market.

According to data from crypto.news, Bitcoin (BTC) price surged from an intraday low near $80,500 to as high as $82,400 before stabilizing slightly above the $82,000 mark at press time. The move pushed the flagship cryptocurrency to its highest level in several weeks.

Today’s rally came as crude oil prices retreated sharply after United States President Donald Trump announced a temporary pause in the “Project Freedom” operation amid progress in U.S.-Iran peace negotiations. West Texas Intermediate crude fell back below $100 per barrel, while Brent crude slipped toward $106.

The decline in oil prices helped improve appetite for risk assets such as Bitcoin, as easing energy costs reduced immediate concerns around inflationary pressure and aggressive monetary tightening.

Institutional demand has also remained supportive for Bitcoin’s broader uptrend. According to SoSoValue data, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have attracted more than $5 billion in cumulative net inflows over the past month, including roughly $1.5 billion added over the last three trading sessions alone.

The sustained inflow streak signaled continued institutional appetite despite lingering macroeconomic uncertainty.

Meanwhile, technical indicators on the daily chart suggest Bitcoin could be preparing for another leg higher toward the $85,000 region.

Bitcoin has now broken above the psychological $82,000 resistance zone while reclaiming the 0.5 Fibonacci retracement level near $80,183. The next major upside target appears near the 0.618 Fibonacci retracement level around $84,386, followed by the broader

Bitcoin surged to a three-month high on Wednesday on reports of a U.S.-Iran peace framework and the restoration of safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

The White House believes it is nearing an agreement with Iran on a one-page, 14-point memorandum of understanding to end the war, Axios reported, citing four sources familiar with the matter.

The document, being negotiated by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, would declare an end to hostilities and open a 30-day window for detailed talks on Hormuz transit, Iran's nuclear program, and U.S. sanctions relief.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards Navy separately said it may allow safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz following a pause in U.S. naval operations in the region, according to reports in state media.

Bitcoin is up 1.4% over the past 24 hours, and is trading at around $82,330, according to CoinGecko data. The S&P 500 climbed 0.85% to a new all-time high of 7,366.25.
